Hunter Biden lives abroad and cannot pay his bills, lawsuit docs claim

Hunter Biden’s legal problems have reportedly led to a move overseas, according to recent court documents.

The first son of former President Joe Biden is currently living abroad, as his attorney, Barry Coburn, revealed in a court filing earlier this month, according to Fox News.

“Mr. Biden lives abroad,” stated the document, which was filed April 6 in connection with a civil lawsuit over outstanding legal fees. “He cannot pay his current lawyers.”

“The court document disclosing Biden’s current living situation was submitted in a Washington, D.C., civil court by Winston & Strawn LLP, which previously represented him in a series of criminal cases that drew intense national scrutiny over the years, including a felony gun trial in Delaware and a tax crimes prosecution in California,” Fox News reported.

Though it is unclear where the former first son has relocated to, the 56-year-old has expressed his love of Cape Town in South Africa, where his wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, is originally from.

“When all of the political and personal stuff came to an end in the last six months, I had always promised that we would spend some time over here,” Biden said on The Wide Awake Podcast last November. “We’re trying to be between Cape Town and the States, go back and forth.”

“I’ve fallen madly in love with Cape Town,” he told the podcast hosts, based in South Africa. “You guys do not know how good you have it here. It’s the most beautiful city in the world.”

He revealed at the time that he was facing “$17 million in debt … as it relates to my legal fees.”

“According to the filings, the former first son has not paid a ‘substantial portion’ of the fees owed to his legal team,” Fox News noted. “He reportedly has limited financial resources and also cannot afford to hire specialized professionals to assist with the lawsuit, citing instances that Biden manually ‘hand-searched’ his own emails to locate relevant documents rather than relying on outside resources.”

He was seen recently in a family photo from Easter weekend, posted by his sister, Ashley Biden.

Biden, who was pardoned by his father on all federal charges before he left the White House, had his Secret Service protection revoked by President Donald Trump last year after photos emerged of him in South Africa.

“Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer. There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous!” Trump wrote on Truth Social last March. “He is currently vacationing in, of all places, South Africa, where the Human Rights of people has been strenuously questioned.”

“Because of this, South Africa has been taken off our list of Countries receiving Economic and Financial Assistance. Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection. Likewise, Ashley Biden who has 13 agents will be taken off the list,” Trump said.
