Ted Cruz calls Tucker Carlson a ‘deranged, leftist psycho’ over ‘Muslims love Jesus’ post

The feud between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Tucker Carlson took another nasty turn after the podcaster’s controversial take on Islam and Christianity.

Once a loyal ally of President Donald J. Trump, Carlson has been increasingly critical of the Iran war and, in a recent X post by the Tucker Carlson Network, blasted Trump’s controversial Truth Social posting of an image of him portrayed as Jesus Christ that sparked outrage before it was deleted.

“The people in charge don’t want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus,” the post read.

“Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist,” the TCN continued. “That’s why Donald Trump’s painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.”

The post triggered the Texas Republican, who has been locked in a war of words with Carlson since a contentious interview last year, with the two exchanging attacks, including Cruz branding the former Fox News host as the “single most dangerous demagogue in this country” during remarks at an anti-Semitism symposium in Washington, D.C., last month.

“Tucker has turned into a deranged, Leftist psycho,” Carlson wrote in a Wednesday post to X. “Who loves sharia.”

Cruz also slammed Carlson over the commentator’s criticism of Trump’s demand for an “unconditional surrender” from Iran.

“That is more anti-American rhetoric than anything I’ve ever heard Bernie Sanders say,” the senator said on his podcast. “Tucker continues to go to new lows and new lows. The more Tucker Carlson attacks Donald Trump the more fringe he gets.”

Carlson’s opposition to the war on Iran hasn’t gone over well with Trump, who told the Washington Post’s Jon Karl that the podcaster has “lost his way” before later bombing him back to the Stone Age along with other former supporters turned critics who he denounced as “NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS” in a molten hot Truth Social post last week.

“Tucker’s a low IQ person that has absolutely no idea what’s going on,” Trump said in an interview with the New York Post last week. “He calls me all the time; I don’t respond to his calls. I don’t deal with him. I like dealing with smart people, not fools.”

Carlson recently told British journalist Piers Morgan that one thing that could entice him to run for president in 2028 would be the chance to go mano a mano against Cruz on the debate stage.

“As for Ted Cruz, he says he’s running against me for president,” he told Morgan. “I almost want to run for president just to debate Ted Cruz, because I think it would go about the way it went last time, and for my part, I deeply enjoyed it, which is why I’ve never tweeted about it, because I just keep that little spark of joy inside me for rainy days, and I think about that conversation and smile.”

“I have seen more anti-Semitism in the last 18 months on the right than at any point in my lifetime,” Cruz said during his rant at the anti-Semitism symposium. “It is being spread by loud voices, the most consequential of whom is Tucker Carlson.”
