Hunter, fireworks and cocaine found in the White House; busy week, no comment from Joe

President Biden’s Fourth of July celebration went on as if nothing had happened after the Secret Service found what is now believed to be cocaine in a work area of the West Wing Sunday night, with the first family ironically posing with Hunter Biden on the Truman balcony during fireworks.

It’s the latest scandal to hit the White House and President Biden is refusing to comment on it. The Secret Service is still investigating the matter and has sent the substance for additional testing.

When the white powder was found, a hazmat team was called in. The White House was initially evacuated out of an abundance of caution on Sunday evening. The next morning, Hunter Biden was among the first family members to arrive for the festivities. The president had been at Camp David with Hunter Biden who is a “recovering” drug addict.

The work area where the cocaine was found in the West Wing is used by members of the Biden administration, White House staff, and hundreds of journalists. Getting anything into the White House is difficult to do, so it is curious how drugs made their way onto the premises.

According to the Daily Mail, which got a hold of radio dispatches by the DC Fire Department, the cocaine was found in a library two floors below the private White House residence in an area that is part of the public tour. However, that has now been corrected with the drug allegedly being found in a work area instead, according to a Secret Service statement.

“On Sunday evening, the White House complex went into a precautionary closure as officers from the Secret Service Uniformed Division investigated an unknown item found inside a work area,” the USSS statement claims. “The DC Fire Department was called to evaluate and quickly determined the item to be non-hazardous. The item was sent for further evaluation and an investigation into the cause and manner of how it entered the White House is pending.”

The West Wing itself is the heart of the White House which includes the Oval Office, offices for the president’s executive staff, the Cabinet Room, the Roosevelt Room, and the press briefing room where the press corps gather for work every day.

On Tuesday, as reporters shouted questions at President Biden about the cocaine, he contemptuously ignored them. That happened as he delivered remarks alongside first lady Jill Biden to the National Education Association’s Representative Assembly. Instead of addressing the questions about drugs being found in the White House, Biden fixated on gun control.

The president and first lady were joined for the Independence Day celebration by Hunter Biden, his wife Melissa, and their son Beau.

You would never know that anything was amiss as the Bidens celebrated the Fourth of July from the Truman balcony. In fact, just to make a point, President Biden had Hunter Biden, his wife, and his son stand on the balcony with the first couple for photo ops. It was in a word, brazen, after the scandals in which Hunter Biden has been embroiled.

Hunter could be seen standing next to his step-mother Jill Biden and his father while holding his son Beau, 3, as his wife Melissa, sister Ashley, and daughter Naomi joined them for the celebrations.

The incident was mocked all over the place and Newsmax host Robb Schmitt snarked, “It wouldn’t be a thumpin’ July 4th weekend without Hunter Biden ripping lines off of a bust of Teddy Roosevelt.”
