Hysterical media points fingers at Trump over white powder, threatening note sent to Manhattan DA

Former President Donald J. Trump was accused of inciting violence over a series of scathing social media posts torching Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as the grand jury in his malicious prosecution against the 2024 GOP presidential candidate appears stalled while an envelope containing a suspicious white powder was discovered at the DA’s office.

On Friday, the media went berserk over Trump’s onslaught on the George Soros-backed Bragg, whom he repeatedly savaged on his Truth Social platform and in one post dripping with the hyperbolic flair that is his trademark, warned of “death & destruction” if he is charged, appearing to describe the DA as a “degenerate psychopath who “hates the USA!”

Amidst the hysteria over Trump’s inflammatory posts, an envelope containing a suspicious powder was sent to Bragg’s office in Lower Manhattan where it was discovered inside of an envelope marked “Alvin” after it was delivered by the USPS to the mailroom at 80 Centre St., according to court officials.

The powder inside the envelope which also included a letter threatening Bragg was reportedly postmarked from Florida and was determined to be harmless. Still, it added further fuel to the narrative that Trump was responsible for putting a target on the district attorney’s back.

Prior to the news of the letter, outrage erupted over a post by Trump in which he shared an article with followers along with an image of him brandishing a baseball bat next to a picture of Bragg, a post that was interpreted as a threat to his safety.

Trump has since deleted the controversial post but his enemies in the media had their hook and were running with it for all that it was worth.

One of the more strident attacks on Trump came from SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah, a raving authoritarian crank who, in addition to his show where he provides a forum to former Deep State officials with an ax to grind, is also a regular on MSNBC where he likened the former president to a recruiter for Islamist terrorists.

“I have to be blunt,” he said. “This is akin to an ISIS and Al Qaeda recruiter radicalizing people to commit violence on their behalf.”

“We’re dealing with… a fascist movement on U.S. soil and it must be called out by Democrats. Don’t be timid about it,” Obeidallah added, suggesting that it’s time for the government to take the gloves off against Trump supporters.

Not everyone in the media jumped to conclusions about the letter to Bragg, with some suggesting that the white powder and threatening language could be just another one of the hoaxes that have marked the post-2016 election landscape.

On Friday’s edition of “American Agenda,” Newsmax host Lidia Curanaj recalled the days when she worked as a “lowly production assistant” for disgraced former CBS News anchor Dan Rather in 2001 when anthrax was sent to their mailroom in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

“So when you do hear that – powder in an envelope – you can’t help but wonder my goodness, could this be some sort of deadly bioweapon because there are a lot of crazy people out there,” she said.

“We don’t want any violence,” she added. “This is just disgraceful. We’re Americans. Let the process play out at this point.”

“It could be an agitator, it could even be a Democrat,” Curanaj said during the panel discussion. “Honestly, it could be somebody from Bragg’s office, sending it to themselves, I’m sorry.”

One panelist suggested that it would be no great surprise if the perpetrator behind the white powder was a Democrat, saying that  “Democrats run Hollywood, they know how to build scripts! They know how to plant things,” although indicating that he was joking and “didn’t want to create a conspiracy,” which his fellow panelists found to be very amusing.

With Trump set to hold a rally in Waco, Texas, the site of the 1993 government siege on the compound of the Branch Davidian religious sect – a standoff that ended with 82 dead including over two dozen children in a national tragedy that has been used by leftists to demonize Christians for nearly three decades – the media rhetoric about his fomenting of violent extremism is about to go into hyperdrive.
