‘I won’t be bullied into silence’: Fuming female skateboarder goes off after trans rival wins competition

A female skateboarder who lost a Red Bull-sponsored competition to a biological male is speaking out against Red Bull for ignoring her complaints about the unfairness of biological women being forced to compete against “transgender women.”

In an Instagram post published Tuesday, skateboarder Taylor Silverman revealed that thanks to Red Bull allowing a biological male to compete in its latest Red Bull Cornerstone contest, she and her female peers were denied the prestige and money they’d earned.

“My name is Taylor Silverman. I am a female athlete. I have been skateboarding for eleven years and competing for several years. I have been in three different contests with trans women, two of which I placed second. At the last contest series I did for Redbull, I placed second,” the post reads.

“The trans competitor who won took $1000 in qualifiers, $3000 in finals, and $1000 in best trick. This totaled to $5000 of the prize money meant for the female athletes. I took $1000 in qualifiers and $1750 for second place, so $2750 in total. The girl who took third received $750. The girl who deserved $1000 for best trick took nothing along with whoever would have placed third.”

She concluded the post by saying that she’d deserved to place first and be paid accordingly. She also revealed that she’d tried to reach out to Red Bull, but to no avail.

“I deserved to place first, be acknowledged for my win, and get paid. I reached out to Redbull and was ignored. I am sick of being bullied into silence,” she wrote.

Also included in the post is a screenshot of the email that she’d sent to Red Bull.

“I am reaching out in hopes of being directed to the right person to express my concerns about what occurred at the Redbull Cornerstone contest with the transgender competitor in the women’s division. … A biological man with a clear advantage won the women’s division, best trick, and also won multiple qualifiers. This took away the opportunity that was meant for women to place and earn money,” the email reads.

“What happened was unfair and at the time I was too uncomfortable to speak up. I understand that in todays society even some women think this is acceptable, but I believe in doing the right thing even if it’s not the popular thing. I now realize it’s really important for me to speak up and I’d like to schedule a time to talk.”

It’s not clear when exactly the race occurred. What’s known is that Silverman lost to Lillian Gallagher, a biological male.

What’s also known is that biological men competing against biological women has become a major issue in American culture and politics.

Democrats, for their part, stand entirely with the transgender community, whereas Republicans stand entirely with biological women. Centrists meanwhile tend to be split with some siding with the transgender community, and others like commentator Tim Pool siding with women.

Pool is of particular note because he’s offered to pay Silverman the money that was denied to her by Red Bull:

What’s also known is that Silverman is being inundated with hate from the pro-transgender community. Ever since she uploaded the Instagram post on Tuesday, critics have been peppering her posts with insults and smears.

For instance, one post containing a picture of Silverman in a bathing suit features critics saying she’s “built like a man.” Another post containing a video of her skating features critics mocking her alleged lack of skill.

Silverman is facing some of the same on Twitter.

Look:

Notice how the latter tweet contains an explicit threat of violence.

Incidentally, zero establishment media outlets, including The Washington Post, have reported Silverman’s concerns about competing against biological men or raised concerns of their own about the hate she’s now facing.

Note that the Post has a habit of conflating mere criticism against its so-called “journalists” with outright harassment.

Despite the hate Silverman’s facing, it does appear that the vast majority of people support her:

This isn’t surprising given that polling data has shown that a majority of Americans believe transgender athletes should only be allowed to compete against those who share their biological gender.

Specifically, a Gallup poll conducted last year found that a 62 percent majority of Americans, including 63 percent of Independents and even 41 percent of Democrats, believe as such.
