An illegal alien who was discovered to have been working as a police officer in the “sanctuary state” of Illinois was arrested by immigration authorities on Thursday.
Radule Bojovic, an illegal alien from Montenegro, was arrested after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) discovered that he had been working as a sworn police officer with the Hanover Park Police Department.

The Trump administration was livid over him having worked as a sworn officer in “Pritzker’s Illinois,” where he’d reportedly earned as much as $205,707 this year alone.
“Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities, he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
“Radule Bojovic violated our nation’s laws and was living ILLEGALLY in the United States for 10 years—what kind of police department gives criminal illegal aliens badges and guns? It’s a felony for aliens to even possess a firearm. A so-called law enforcement officer who is actively breaking the law,” she added.
According to DHS, Bojovic overstayed a tourist visa after it expired on March 31, 2015.

Despite Bojovic’s status as an illegal alien, the Village of Hanover Park alleged to ABC News that it’d hired him “in full compliance with federal and state law” and “confirmed that he was legally authorized by the federal government to work in the United States.”
“The bottom line is that all information we received from the federal government indicated that Officer Bojovic is legally authorized to work in the United States as a police officer,” the village said.
“Clearly, without that authorization, the Village would not have hired him. Additionally, the Village has not received any notice from any federal or state agency that his work authorization status has ever been revoked,” the village’s statement continued.
Responding to Bojovic’s arrest, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem slammed Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker for allowing illegals to work as police officers in his “sanctuary state.”
