Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis casually fired another shot in the culture Friday when a campaign stop at a Nevada Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hall left him laughing it up with fellow veterans over woke beer.
The Republican presidential hopeful was the guest of former Nevada Attorney General and onetime Senate candidate Adam Laxalt Friday as he made multiple stops through Reno, Nevada. During the veterans appreciation happy hour at VFW Battle Born Post 9211, the governor was seen behind the bar serving drinks when he took a jab at Anheuser-Busch.
“Just so you know, I’ll serve you anything except Bud Light,” DeSantis quipped to laughter and thumbs up from those gathered a moment before toasting with them in thanks to their service.

The stop, ahead of attending the Reno Rodeo and the 8th Annual Basque Fry, for which surrogates of his leading opponent former President Donald Trump had tried to score political points over, appeared to be a hit with attendees and social media users alike as positive responses rolled in answering the perennial question: “Which candidate would you rather have a beer with?”
“Love it. I would love to grab a beer with Ron!” one person wrote as a supporter chimed in, “Ron DeSantis is the most down-to-earth person running for president in a LONG time. He is not a millionaire/billionaire; he has worked hard to get to where he is. He understands the middle class like no other.”
Another voiced their envy stating, “Oh I wish I had been there! Looks so fun!” as someone else offered, “Love him, an all-American vet with charm, good looks, and moral values is our only hope to fixing all the problems created by past administrations!”

The best governor, going to be the best president soon, and a better bartender than AOC.

Back in April, DeSantis had weighed in on Bud Light’s controversial sponsorship of influencer Dylan Mulvaney during an interview with Benny Johnson where he said, “Why would you want to drink Bud Light? I mean like honestly, that’s like them rubbing our faces in it, and it’s like these companies that do this, if they never have any response, they are just gonna keep doing it.”
“So, if you as a consumer are like… ‘yeah, they’re doing that, but I’m just gonna keep drinking it anyways,’ well, then they’re gonna keep doing it,” he added. “So I think we have power as consumers to make our voice heard, and not on every company because sometimes conservative consumers aren’t going to make a dent in some companies. This one is one if you don’t have conservative beer drinkers, you’re gonna feel that and so you know.”
Of course, no politician is universally loved and America’s Governor took shots from fans of his opponents and leftists alike.
In one example, DeSantis’ press secretary Jeremy Redfern got into a back and forth with someone who charged, “These are not serious people. These are children,” to which he replied, “A bunch of veterans are children?”
“If THEY said ‘I’ll serve you anything but a Bud Light’ — yes. But I assume it was just the idiot governor,” the Twitter user fired back.
It was then that Redfern served up his own dose of reality and noted with a clown emoji to the detractor, “The governor is a veteran.”
