Illegal migrant, 22, headed for NYC confessed he’s a HEZBOLLAH TERRORIST here ‘to make a bomb’

A terror-tied illegal alien with sights set on a major metropolis named as only the latest in a growing number of like apprehensions at the border.

The crisis wrought by President Joe Biden’s executive actions and the policies of his administration has continued to upend the lives of American families. However, tragedies like the killing of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley could pale in comparison to looming threats after Border Patrol apprehended a Lebanese man who had told them, “I’m going to try to make a bomb.”

According to a report from the New York Post, Big Apple-bound Basel Bassel Ebbadi, a 22-year-old from Lebanon, had been caught entering the United States illegally near El Paso, Texas on March 9.

Documents reviewed, including one from U.S. Border Patrol, noted that the man had admitted “membership to a foreign terrorist organization,” the newspaper stated was Iranian-backed Hezbollah.

“I’m going to try to make a bomb,” Ebbadi was said to have told Homeland Security officials when he was questioned on his presence in the United States.

Having also reviewed documents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Post detailed that the illegal alien had said that, though we “was not Muslim,” he had trained in “jihad” for some seven years before becoming an active member who spent four years guarding weapons locations.

The ICE documents said he went on to claim in an interview that he “didn’t want to kill people,” and that he had been fleeing Lebanon and Hamas but, “once you’re in, you can never get out.”

Ebbadi’s account of his journey from the Middle East to America said that he had hoped to get to New York City and then travel about the country after using a fake identity in Sweden, Ecuador and Panama en route. He had also claimed that his documents had been taken from him during a robbery “with a knife” while in Costa Rica.

The Lebanese man’s apprehension came only a couple weeks after Border Patrol had arrested 40-year-old Carlos Obed Yepez-Bedoya of Columbia, confirmed as a “positive match” for the FBI’s terror watchlist.

Federal data showed that in fiscal year 2024 there had already been roughly 60 apprehensions of individuals on the terror watchlist after a spike from fiscal year 2022 to fiscal year 2023 from about 100 to around 170.

“This underscores the need for border security measures as potential threats to both public safety and national security are evident and exploit security vulnerabilities,” Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez had told the Post. “The federal government has failed to enact border security measures, and the state of Texas, through Governor Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, will continue to take unprecedented action to help secure the border.”

Similarly, former President Donald Trump had expressed his own concern to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that he believes because of Biden’s negligence “we’re going to have a terrorist attack — 100%. 100%. You know, during my term I had no terrorist attacks. You know that, right? I had all sorts of bans on people from certain countries. I had bans all over the place. We had no attack. I had nothing.”

According to the March 12 document, Ebbadi “is held at the El Paso Sector Hardened Facility (EPT-EHF) and is being interviewed by [Tactical Terrorism Response Team] and by Joint Terrorist Task Force (JTTF).” The Post stated that he was slated for deportation, but it was unclear where he would be sent.
