‘I’m going to the back!’ Jean-Pierre abruptly cuts off grilling from Doocy on Biden and Twitter link

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had a rough go of it Thursday, eventually storming out of the day’s press briefing after being confronted by relentless Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba for not taking his questions.

The president’s spokesperson, who checks multiple diversity boxes, would also go at it with regular antagonist, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy. The reporter not only grilled Jean-Pierre on why Russia got a better deal in trading a professional athlete in Brittany Griner for a notorious arms dealer but also pressed her for refusing to comment on the Biden campaign collaborating with Twitter on suppressing damaging content on the platform, as was revealed in the release of the Twitter files.

It was the latter issue that exhausted KJP’s patience, prompting her to abruptly cut him off.

“And just one other topic,” Doocy said, after inquiring about the prisoner exchange. “You’ve said a few times that you really can’t talk about communications between the Biden campaign and Twitter. Who is telling you that that’s off-limits?”

“I’ve already had that conversation with you — with your colleague, I believe, yesterday,” she replied. “I’ve already addressed this multiple times this week, so I don’t have anything more to add. Again, I — we’ve litigated this all week. Don’t have anything to add.”

While Doocy tried to clarify his question, Jean-Pierre had clearly had enough and cut him off mid-sentence.

“I’m going to the back. I’m going to the back. I’m going to the back,” she said, before calling on another reporter. “Go ahead.”
