A video purporting to show a 200-foot statue of Jesus Christ being built on the White House lawn went viral on social media.
The TikTok video fooled many while others picked up on clues that the video was AI-generated.
@spectacularsights A first look at the 200-foot statue of Jesus being risen on the White House lawn. A bold reminder that no matter who sits in office, Christ is King! As this monument takes shape, let it be a symbol that faith is the foundation of this nation. Imagine standing before it, looking up at His presence over our capital—powerful, unshakable, eternal. #JesusOverAmerica #OneNationUnderGod #FaithInTheWhiteHouse #JesusLovesYou #ChristianUnity #GodsPlan #PraiseTheLord #ChristianPatriot #ChristIsKing #FaithOverPolitics #RevivalComing #AmericaForJesus #HolyMonument #FaithOverFear #ChristianCommunity ♬ original sound – OnlyByYourGraceJesus – Nat ✞

“Not everyone was fooled,” Rugg added, noting that one viewer credited Fox News reporter Peter Doocy for her skepticism, and wrote, “Nope just saw Peter Doocy give an interview in that exact spot.”
However, the comments from those who bought into the holy hoax poured in on TikTok.
“Tears !! What a precious sight !! Glory Lord Jesus,” wrote one user.
“Thank you Mr president,” wrote another.
“Unbelievable, such an amazing deed, you are truly the best President,” one TikTok user wrote while many others said they got “chills” and thanked President Donald Trump.
Over on X, many commented on how “gullible” social media users are while others pointed out how prolific artificial intelligence images and videos have become.

People are so easily scammed. First thing I noticed is the WH lawn is not that big. Second, there are no skyscrapers in DC. The only high rise is the Washington Monument. Third, it would take months to just build the foundation for something that large.

The AI misinformation is getting bad on other platforms, especially Facebook.
Seems like every other post is completely fake.

The 200-foot Jesus statue isn’t real, but a world where America returns to its Christian roots?
Now that’s a future worth believing in.
