‘Is that what happened to you?’ AOC viciously mocked for claiming gas stoves linked to brain damage

It’s bad enough that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is reportedly looking to ban gas stoves amid a study linking them to childhood asthma, but Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now claiming the appliance is related to cognitive decline — which puts a whole different light on a photo making the rounds of first lady Jill Biden cooking on a gas stove.

Gas stoves have been a target for some time, with climate alarmists insisting they are bad for the environment. However, as Fox News host Tucker Carlson observed, that claim wasn’t working so they altered it to say gas stoves are hurting children due to harmful indoor air pollutants being emitted.

There’s been a lot of pushback to the insanity of a possible ban, with celebrity chef Andrew Gruel among those taking a stand. Even Sen. Joe Manchin is crying foul. The Democrat from West Virginia said in a tweet: “This is a recipe for disaster. The federal government has no business telling American families how to cook their dinner. I can tell you the last thing that would ever leave my house is the gas stove that we cook on.”

A similar tweet came from U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson, who tweeted Molon labe-like: “I’ll NEVER give up my gas stove. If the maniacs in the White House come for my stove, they can pry it from my cold dead hands. COME AND TAKE IT!!”

Being that the Texas lawmaker is a Republican,  Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., felt free to respond, “Did you know that ongoing exposure to NO2 from gas stoves is linked to reduced cognitive performance.”

The Green New Deal queen linked to a Vox article about gas stoves being a health risk, but Slate also reported on an American Journal of Epidemiology study on the matter — given that our science is now woke and universities are little more than progressive indoctrination centers, it makes sense that studies reflect today’s political talking points.

“In this study, field workers went to 500 homes with newborns and directly measured indoor nitrogen dioxide concentrations for three months. (Nitrogen dioxide—a major pollutant of traffic—is only released by gas stoves, not other cooking devices.) Then, four years later, they tested the children’s mental functioning and attention-hyperactivity behaviors,” Slate reported. “Kids who lived in homes with gas stoves experienced levels of nitrogen dioxide triple to those who came from homes with electric stoves. Kids from homes with gas stoves fared marginally worse on cognitive tasks (again, a point or two out of a 100-point scale).”

But then, as we learned with Covid-19, truth AND science are relative these days.

Either way, AOC accomplished what she does best — providing entertainment value to rational-minded folks…here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
