When Israeli President Isaac Herzog delivered a speech to Congress, several Democrat lawmakers who have a reputation for antisemitic rhetoric weren’t in attendance, choosing to make a political statement by rudely boycotting his appearance. But their absence didn’t go unnoticed by the leader of one of America’s most important allies who delivered a thinly veiled rebuke of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her fellow “Squad” members.
On the day after he sat down with President Joe Biden, who appeared to have briefly nodded off during a public event at the White House, Herzog spoke before a joint session to mark the 75th anniversary of the Jewish state’s founding,
“We are proud to be the United States’s closest partner and friend,” the president told lawmakers. “When the United States is strong, Israel is stronger. And when Israel is strong, the United States is more secure.”
He also took a shot at the Jew-bashing Democrats days after one of the most prominent left-wing lawmakers, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) who chairs the Progressive Caucus denounced Israel as a “racist state” during the Netroots Nation convention in Chicago over the weekend, as well as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) who smeared the Jewish democracy as being akin to the notorious South African system of apartheid.

“Mr. Speaker, I am not oblivious to criticism among friends, including some expressed by respected members of this House. I respect criticism, especially from friends, although one does not always have to accept it,” he said.
“But criticism of Israel must not cross the line into negation of the State of Israel’s right to exist,” Herzog added.
“Questioning the Jewish people’s right to self-determination is not legitimate diplomacy, it is antisemitism,” he said, drawing raucous applause from those who showed up who didn’t include antisemitic bomb-thrower Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) who announced her intention to boycott in an unhinged Twitter tirade.
“There is no way in hell I am attending the joint session address from a President whose country has banned me and denied @RashidaTlaib the ability to see her grandma,” she began, adding an all-caps rant along with an extended thread with links to anti-Israel stories that might as well have been hand-picked by the propaganda department of Hamas.
WE SHOULD NOT BE INVITING THE PRESIDENT OF ISRAEL—A GOVERNMENT WHO UNDER ITS CURRENT PRIME MINISTER BARRED THE FIRST TWO MUSLIM WOMEN ELECTED TO CONGRESS FROM VISITING THE COUNTRY—TO GIVE A JOINT ADDRESS TO CONGRESS.

“In solidarity with the Palestinian people and all those who have been harmed by Israel’s apartheid government, I will be boycotting President Herzog’s joint address to Congress,” Tlaib tweeted on Sunday from the steps of the Capitol holding her silly sign. “I urge all Members of Congress who stand for human rights for all to join me. #BoycottApartheid.”

Ocasio-Cortez also invoked the A-word as her reason for giving the middle finger to President Herzog and Israel.

Omar, Tlaib, and AOC comprised one-third of the nine Democrats who refused to vote in favor of a Tuesday House resolution affirming support for Israel, proudly going on record as being the “anti-Semitic radicals” as House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) described them as.
BREAKING—Tomorrow the House will vote on @RepPfluger’s resolution that definitively states Israel is not a racist state & the U.S. will always support Israel.
It should be an easy vote.
Will Dems stand with our ally or capitulate to the anti-Semitic radicals in their party?

The boycotting House Democrats, AOC, Omar, Tlaib, along with BLM activist Cori Bush (D-Mo.) and human time bomb Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), were joined by crypto-communist codger Sen. Bernie Sanders in snubbing Herzog, the Jewish website The Forward reported.
