House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is threatening consequences if the Clintons fail to appear for the committee’s Epstein probe.
Bill and Hillary Clinton were both hit with subpoenas demanding they appear before the Oversight Committee to testify in their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s network. Despite the increased interest in the matter from Democrats in the last few months, it seems that the Clintons have no interest in helping Congress with their depositions.
On Friday, Comer released a statement threatening to hold the pair in contempt of Congress if they continue to stall.
“It has been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed to sit for depositions related to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes. Throughout that time, the former President and former Secretary of State have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the Committee staff’s efforts to schedule their testimony. If the Clintons fail to appear for their depositions next week or schedule a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable,” he said.
“On July 23, 2025, Republicans and Democrats on the Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee approved by voice vote a motion to issue subpoenas to ten individuals, including former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for testimony related to the horrific crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell,” the statement read. “Following the Subcommittee vote, on August 5, 2025, Chairman Comer issued the subpoenas. Based on correspondence with the Clintons’ attorney, it appears that former President Clinton and former Secretary Clinton will be the only individuals that intend to defy these subpoenas. ”
With how long it’s been, X expressed skepticism:
You probably should have started the process a few months ago.

Their names are not Steve Bannon or Peter Navarro so nothing will happen to them.

I’m not sure how much flex Bannon and Navarro were allowed, but I don’t think it was this much.

Does Comer even hear himself?
“Okay Bill and Hillary, we’re not kidding this time. You better show up or we’re going to send you to bed without supper.”

Make sure they both experience the same exact treatment that Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro experienced
