Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) may have turned on the media as she sets her sights on a U.S. Senate seat, with her campaign reportedly booting one reporter from an event and calling the cops on another.
The trash-talking congresswoman from Dallas has brought the hood to the House and is looking to take her rude ghetto babe act to the upper chamber, but she first has to defeat Texas state Rep. James Talarico in the Lone Star State’s upcoming Democratic primary.
In a sign that the tension is getting to the overtly anti-white racist lawmaker, her campaign allegedly had Elaine Godfrey of The Atlantic escorted from a rally on Monday, and in a classic example of biting the hand that feeds her, sicced Capitol Police on CNN’s Edward-Isaac Dovere when he tried to visit her office.
Crockett’s “harder line” with the media was first reported by Semafor, which cited anonymous sources in “three people familiar with the incidents.”
Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to me: “In a democracy, elected officials answer questions from the press rather than hide from them. This is completely unacceptable behavior by Rep. Crockett and her team, and needs to be addressed immediately.”https://t.co/CcalOPCgzZ

“At a campaign rally in Texas on Monday, security escorted Atlantic reporter Elaine Godfrey from the premises. Godfrey has covered Crockett at length, though the coverage has appeared to frustrate the Texas congresswoman,” Semafor reported.
According to the outlet, Godfrey, who has covered Crockett “at length,” was granted access to the congresswoman but last year told the writer that she was “shutting down the profile and revoking all provisions” before the publication of the piece.
Atlantic Editor Jeffrey Goldberg declined to name the reporter but confirmed that one of the outlet’s reporters was escorted from the event and off the grounds after beginning to ask questions.
“In a democracy, elected officials answer questions from the press rather than hide from them,” fumed the notorious fabulist. “This is completely unacceptable behavior by Rep. Crockett and her team, and needs to be addressed immediately.”
Semafor also cited “two people familiar with the situation” who said that Crockett’s campaign called the Capitol Police, which provides security to lawmakers nationally, when Dovere paid a visit to a campaign office location earlier this month.
The treatment of Dovere should be especially surprising after CNN has spent more than a year giving Crockett a regular platform, legitimizing her uncouth and disgraceful behavior, which in a different era would have been widely condemned as being beneath the dignity of an elected official.
CNN declined to provide comment to Semafor on the alleged treatment of its reporter but denied that Godfrey had been ejected from the event.
The contest between Crockett and Talarico is being closely watched by analysts and the media, with the Senate race being crucial to their hopes of turning Texas blue, something that they have long coveted.
The Democrat winner will face off against either incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) or Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who are locked in their own battle in the GOP primary.
