JD Vance pens DOJ letter over WaPo neocon poobah’s call for ‘open rebellion’ if Trump wins

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) took exception with an unhinged screed published by the Washington Post that he believes is an encouragement for “open rebellion” against the government if GOP frontrunner Donald J. Trump wins the 2024 election.

The Ohio Republican sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Secretary of State Antony Blinken regarding the lengthy column penned by arch-neocon Robert Kagan in which he wrote that “resistance”  to a Trump victory “could come from the governors of predominantly Democratic states such as California and New York through a form of nullification. States with Democratic governors and statehouses could refuse to recognize the authority of a tyrannical federal government.”

Kagan’s language would seem to be consistent with the revamped definition of an “insurrection,” another term that has been perverted from its traditional meaning as a means to provide a legal basis to bar Trump from ever sitting in the White House again, and Vance wants answers from the two high-ranking Biden regime officials.

“I wish to address to your attention a recent opinion piece published in the pages of a widely circulated American newspaper. Based on my review of public charging documents that the Department of Justice has filed in courts of law, I suspect that one or both of you might characterize this article as an invitation to “insurrection,” a manifestation of criminal ‘conspiracy,’ or an attempt to bring about civil war,” Vance wrote.

After declaring that the odds of an American dictatorship in the next few years are ‘pretty good’ and that ‘[t]hose who hope to be saved [from dictatorship] by a U.S. military devoted to the protection of the Constitution are living in a fantasyland,’ writer Robert Kagan—an editor at large at The Washington Post—proceeded to the conclusion that a second Trump presidency would justify secession, treason, and (likely) political violence,” the letter reads.

“Excuse me? I must have missed that day in civics class. Our system of federalism prescribes a robust role for state governments and often allows for local resolution of local matters,” Vance wrote. “Never mind that our country endured the horror of civil war hoping to put to bed the idea that states can ignore lawful federal authority when it inconveniences them.”

“According to Robert Kagan, the prospect of a second Donald Trump presidency is terrible enough to justify open rebellion against the United States, along with the political violence that would inevitably follow…,” the senator stated.

Vance also points out that Kagan is he husband of Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, a fanatical neocon who is quarterbacking the US-NATO proxy war on Russia in Ukraine, a costly conflict that is hemorrhaging public support nearly as fast as it is chewing up the adult male population of the notoriously corrupt Eastern European country.

“Additionally, it is my understanding Robert Kagan’s wife, Victoria Nuland, is a senior administration official charged with reviewing our nation’s most sensitive national security information and intelligence programs,” he wrote. “I am curious to know whether, in the view of the State Department, Victoria Nuland’s close relationship with her husband might compromise her judgment about the best interests of the United States.”

The senator gave the two regime officials a deadline of January 6, 2024, to answer his question, one of which was whether the DOJ would be opening a probe into Kagan.

“If not, what factors counsel against such an investigation? Why were those factors inapplicable in President Trump’s case?” Vance asked.

Kagan’s column which likened Trump to Hitler and Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was seen by some to be a dog whistle to encourage someone to assassinate the top opposition candidate before he gets the chance to take office.

“By claiming ‘Trump will be like Hitler,’ neocons & Dem establishment rationalize their weaponizing of govt agencies, embolden those in power to further abuse their power, and may encourage a lone wolf to do what people say should have been done to Hitler before he took power. We must send a very direct & clear message at the voting booth that we completely reject these anti-Americans,” said former Democrat congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.

The neocon poobah reacted to Vance’s letter about his call for a rebellion against the federal government in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Joe McCarthy would be so proud, but Tailgunner James has jumped the gun. He was supposed to wait until after the Trump dictatorship begins to start locking up Trump’s political opponents,” wrote Kagan, playing the victim as neocons and their fellow travelers are inclined to do when they are confronted over their dangerous rhetoric.
