Fox News anchor Jesse Watters fact-checked a former Barack Obama speechwriter who insisted that Democrat nominee Kamala Harris is a mainstream candidate and not the rabid leftist that she has always been.
Watters was on the scene at Chicago’s United Center for the Democratic National Convention on Thursday where he was talking to attendees and one of them was “Obama bro” Jon Favreau who now hosts the “Pod Save America” podcast.
A key component of the propaganda campaign to remake Joe Biden’s veep is to falsely portray her as a moderate to bamboozle swing voters. But when Favreau tried to run that scam down, Watters was ready, debunking him with his own words.

“She’s a mainstream Democrat,” Favreau said when asked by the Fox News host about whether Harris is a moderate or a progressive.
“Because before you said, a couple of years ago, that it was laughable that people were calling her a moderate,” Watters said.
“I said that?” Favreau asked.
“Yeah, you said it right here. I have it right here,” Watters responded, quoting him from an August 2020 story published by The Hill in which he scoffs at the “hilarious” idea that Harris who was then the vice presidential candidate was being described as moderate by some media outlets.
“Flashback. ‘Former Obama speechwriter, ‘hilarious’ some media outlets calling Harris a moderate.” Watters said, quoting him the title of the column.
“I mean she’s progressive right?” Favreau asked, going into spin mode. “She’s like a Democrat. She’s not like center of the spectrum, like I said, she’s a mainstream Democrat.”
The two then sparred about what the definition of “far left” is with Favreau trying to gaslight his way out of his own prior admission that Harris is anything but a moderate.
Watters pointed out the nominee’s far-left record on defunding the police and that she supports bail reform like she did when urging her followers to donate to spring violent protesters from jail during the 2020 George Floyd race riots to get them back out onto the streets of Minneapolis.

“She bailed out rioters,” Watters said. “One of them got out and raped and murdered somebody. I think that’s far left.”
“It was hilarious to me that she’s being called, in all this coverage, a ‘moderate,’ like Joe Biden has found a fellow moderate or centrist. She supports something extremely close to ‘Medicare for All,’ which Bernie Sanders acknowledged in his statement supporting her. She’s for the Green New Deal. She has one of the most liberal records in the U.S. Senate,” the Obama bro. was quoted by The Hill.
“If you want to call Kamala Harris’s record in the Senate and her policies that she’s supporting now centrist or moderate, great,” he continued. “If that’s where the Overton window has moved, then congratulations to all the progressive activists, because you have f—ing moved the s-it out of that window — that supporting the Green New Deal and basically Medicare for All is now moderate and centrist. Fantastic, I’ll take it,” Favreau said.
Watters did his homework and the the Obama bro. wasn’t ready for it.
