Johns Hopkins doctor raises red flags over rationale urging boosters for young children

As many COVID theatrics persist, Dr. Marty Makary argued that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is utilizing perception over “scientific rationale.”

Makary, a surgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins University, expressed his concern Tuesday on “Fox & Friends First” after it became apparent that technical expertise was being put on the sideline in determining if children aged five to 11-years-old should receive a COVID booster.

According to the doctor, after Pfizer sought emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for an additional dose of their vaccine, they passed the buck off to those favoring political rather than medical science.

“Well, again the Biden administration’s FDA was completely bypassed in convening their technical experts, their advisory committee,” Makary said. “These are the top vaccine experts in the country. Many had signaled that they’re not on board with this recommendation to give a booster to 24 million five through 11-year-olds.”

“And so when you make such a sweeping recommendation for the entire country with such strong vigor, ordering all 24 million children in the country, five through 11 to get a booster, you should convene your technical experts,” he insisted.

However, that isn’t at all what happened as the surgeon explained, “Instead, they put it in front of a CDC committee, which is well known to fire people who have a dissenting opinion. They did that with Dr. Martin Kulldorff from Harvard last year, and the conversation was incredible. There was no clinical data to support the booster for five to 11-year-olds.”

“Instead, they cited a small study done by Pfizer of 140 children in that age group looking at no outcomes, but instead the antibody bump you get after the booster,” the doctor detailed. “And the committee actually said, we want a simple message. We’re concerned about having a confusing message if these kids are not getting a booster and older people are. That is not a scientific rationale.”

Meanwhile, Makary has frequently pointed out the massive disconnect between the appointed policymakers like Dr. Anthony Fauci who, “has been vaccinated four times, and he still now says he is not comfortable going to the White House correspondents’ dinner…So that is the person that is behind all the COVID policies in the United States.”

In contrast, he explained, “I’ve been to about five or six major doctor’s conferences over the last three months nationwide, large conferences with thousands of doctors. They’re not wearing masks, with rare exceptions…What does that tell you about the public health guidance that we’ve gotten?”

Pfizer followed up their push for boosters for the five to 11-year-old cohort with their announcement that they were ready to move forward with an application for emergency use authorization for six-month-olds to five-year-olds beginning a COVID vaccine regimen. The vast majority of parents have expressed hesitancy or outright refusal to submit their young children to these incredibly new technologies that will likely be advanced through similar unscientific rationales.

As such, Makary outlined the massive harm policymakers have caused to public health explaining, “I mean, you’re gonna have people who are treating stage 4 pancreatic cancer with crystals and aromatherapy because they’re so afraid of doctors because they’ve been lied to too much.”
