Despite her own record, former Vice President Kamala Harris drew a conclusion on the president’s ongoing dispute with corporate media that found her calling for resignation.

Hardly a day goes by wherein President Donald Trump isn’t fielding questions in the Oval Office, outside the White House, aboard Air Force One or at any of the myriad events in which he participates. Despite a record of transparency, his twice-failed, late-entry, scrutiny-skirting 2024 rival insisted a ban on White House access for certain outlets was evidence of a “fragile ego” and proof Trump is “in the wrong place.”
The suggestion came during an interview with entertainer Keke Palmer for her “Baby, This is Keke Palmer” podcast released Tuesday when the host asked, “What does this dispute mean for the public’s right to know what the government is doing?”
“It shows the extent to which the current occupant of the White House has such a fragile ego that he can’t, as president of the United States, tolerate major news outlets listening to what he’s saying and watch what he’s doing,” began Harris regarding the chief executive banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House in September.
“If you can’t stand people to watch what you’re doing and listen to what you’re saying, one has to ask — what are you doing?” she went on, despite the fact that scores of other outlets, including the major television networks, had not experienced a change in access to the Trump administration. “It is clear that he is afraid that the American people, through journalists and the media, will see too much to know the incompetence, the cruelty, and the corruption that is coming out of that administration, and that scares them.”
“You’re in the wrong place,” the suspected 2028 Democratic Party presidential frontrunner contended. “If you want to do things in secret, then why don’t you just leave the White House?!”
As was previously reported, following the ban on the select outlets, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News were being scrutinized by the Department of Justice for a potential violation of the law regarding suspension of pool coverage.
DOJ spokeswoman Emily Covington expressed, in part, “Group boycotts among commercial competitors can violate the Sherman Act. The Antitrust Division is simply investigating to determine whether these news organizations have violated the antitrust laws.”

In addition to multiple outlets restricting their own coverage of the White House, the president’s administration countered the corporate media spin by launching a round-the-clock channel dubbed “Trump TV.”
What’s more, it’s worth remembering that in the more than 100 days between the July 2024 ousting of then-President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee and Election Day, Harris did not hold a single official press conference. In the same span, Fox News reported that Trump held six news conferences.
