Buoyed by the success of fast-fading President Joe Biden largely campaigning from his basement in the pandemic-marred 2020 election, the plan of action to elect Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be to hide her in plain sight while promoting a campaign of joy.
Tapped as Biden’s heir apparent after he was reportedly forced out, Harris has a simple role: avoid the media as much as possible, repeat the same canned lines at campaign rallies, and smile. A lot.
A video making the rounds features almost identical remarks spoken by Harris at rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Harris in Wisconsin: “And many of you know, then, before I was elected vice president, before I was elected United States Senator, I was an elected attorney general and before that, an elected district attorney. And before that, and before that I was a courtroom prosecutor. So in those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds — predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, scammers who broke the rules for personal gain. So hear me, when I say I know Donald Trump’s type.”
And in Michigan, she repeats the message almost verbatim. Speeches in Wilmington, Delaware, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, also featured the identical lines.
The Obama machine is reportedly driving the Harris campaign bus after reportedly playing a central role in ousting Biden as the party’s nominee. Hope has apparently taken a backseat to joy, although, as Ben Shapiro reminds us, joy is “20% more expensive than when [Harris] took office.”

The Democrat is also recycling her “unburdened” line from one of her signature word salads, trying to put a positive spin on what has been widely mocked.
“They taught us that we can do anything, and should never be burdened by the limitations of other people to be able or not be able to see what can be,” Harris said at a campaign event in North Carolina, even replicating her stale hand gestures. “And this is that community who understands and can see what is possible, unburdened by what has been.”
Harris took a few questions from reporters on Thursday for the first time since being anointed as the Democratic nominee by the Obama-Pelosi collaboration.
Somewhat amusingly, the vice president said that she may do an interview by the end of the month when asked — it’s the first week of August. As the Trump campaign noted, Harris has not done a single interview or held a press conference since the presidential bid fell into her lap 18 days ago:
Kamala says she might possibly maybe do an interview sometime before the end of the month (23 days from now).

The fact that Harris spoke with the media came AFTER Trump’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) embarrassed her with the following stunt — after landing at the same airport the vice president had just landed at:
I thought the reporters traveling with Kamala might be a little lonely given that she never answers questions from them, so I figured I’d come say hello and check out my new plane while I was at it. https://t.co/OPEh0UKBDc
