Kamala Harris returns to the spotlight with NAACP town halls — fresh questions about her political plans

Swing states will be getting a last-minute visit from a former Vice President and the NAACP as the midterms quickly approach.

In an effort to turn out votes and hopefully claw back a shred of congressional power from the GOP, Democrats are deploying former Vice President Kamala Harris and the NAACP. Harris will visit Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 26 as the state decides who will replace the retiring Gov. Tony Evers. On October 29, she will be in Atlanta, Georgia, to boost incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff, who is defending his seat against his Republican opponent, Rep. Mike Collins.

Watch:

“Our work doesn’t begin or end on Election Day. From voter education to grassroots organizing, we remain committed to building informed, engaged communities,” said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson. “We look forward to continuing that work alongside Vice President Harris in Milwaukee and Atlanta.”

This comes amid speculation that Harris may be testing the waters ahead of a 2028 presidential run. While she publicly remains “undecided,” this midterm mini-tour would take her to a number of swing states where she may aim to make her mark before anyone else even enters the race.
