In the past, politicians in power — particularly those in the White House — protected the sanctity of the judicial branch’s independence from that of the legislative or executive branches of government, but that isn’t stopping Vice President Kamala Harris and the Biden administration from injecting itself into an ongoing Supreme Court case in which Roe v. Wade — one of the most controversial decisions of the Court’s history — may be overturned.
On Thursday afternoon, Harris will meet virtually at the White House with abortion providers during which she will reportedly praise them for their handiwork and vow to fight for access to abortion, regardless of what the Supreme Court ultimately rules.
Harris has already been vocal about the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion, ahead of the Court’s verdict. Once the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft was confirmed as authentic by Justice John Roberts, the Vice President stated that “the rights of all Americans are at risk,” Fox News reports.
“Roe ensures a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion,” Harris said. “It also, at its root, protects the fundamental right to privacy. What is clear is that opponents of Roe want to punish women and take away their rights to make decisions about their own bodies. Republican legislators in states across the country are weaponizing the use of the law against women.”
According to Harris, “if the right to privacy is weakened, every person could face a future in which the government can potentially interfere in the personal decisions you make about your life.”
“This is the time to fight for women and for our country with everything we have,” she directed, even as angry protestors gathered outside the private homes of conservative justices.
Fight the Supreme Court?
Seriously, it used to be a big deal when a leader weighed in on a decision before one was reached by a court of law.
Back at the start of the 1970s, former President Richard Nixon nearly won Charles Manson a mistrial when he declared prior to a verdict that Manson was a “rather glamourous figure” despite being “guilty, directly or indirectly, of eight murders without reason.”

But, apparently, Kamala Harris has no problem making her opinions known, to the extent that she is willing to host the Supreme Court’s opposition and shower them with support.
After opening remarks, Harris will reportedly entertain abortion providers from some of the nation’s most restrictive states, before taking questions from an audience of pro-abortion activists, a White House source informed Fox News.
Among the confirmed participants are OB/GYN provider Dr. Rebecca Taub, who practices in California, Oklahoma, and Kansas; a Planned Parenthood OB/GYN, Dr. Bhavik Kumar, who practices in Texas; the chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Colleen McNicholas; and the founding director of Montana’s All Families Healthcare, Helen Weems.
Harris’s hyperbolic warnings surrounding Roe v. Wade are nothing new.
In December 2021, she stated that “women will die” if the decision is overturned.
Live Action founder and president Lila Rose said the vice president’s “callous disregard for children and their right to be born is a disgrace.”
“The lives of children are just as valuable as the lives of adults, and it should be every politician’s most pressing duty to ensure our laws protect the most vulnerable,” Rose stated. “Instead, Harris wants the law to sanction the greatest human rights abuse and mass slaughter of children our nation has ever seen.”
