Failed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris issued a desperate warning about the SAVE America Act, but true to form, undermined her own case by stating the obvious.
In a jump-cut-filled video posted to social media on Thursday, the ex-veep denounced the legislation that’s a top priority of President Donald J. Trump and has overwhelming public support while admitting that it merely would require identification to vote, a big problem for Democrats who are united in their opposition to it.
These are challenging times, but we are not powerless.
If our votes did not matter, they would not be working overtime to make them harder to cast.

“Hey everybody, so they’re trying to mess with your ability to vote, just to break it all down,” Harris said. “You’ve got the Supreme Court, they just sealed the deal with this case that just came up recently, the Callais decision, which basically took the power out of the Voting Rights Act, which was designed to protect your right to vote.”
“So you got the Supreme Court doin’ its thing, then, this president is trying to push this SAVE Act, which basically would require that for people to register to vote, you’re gonna have to have proof of who you are,” she continued. “Through a passport, which a lot of Americans don’t have, or a birth certificate.”
So that’s a problem? It is for the Democrats.

Despite Trump’s insistence that it be passed, the SAVE America Act remains stalled in the GOP-controlled Senate with less than three months to go until the midterms.
The former vice president has yet to formally announce her 2028 candidacy, but it’s not exactly a secret that she longs to make history as the nation’s first woman president, even if her personal quest once again dooms her party to defeat.
