Swalwell exploits relationship with Trump official’s wife to bury ‘Fang Fang’ honeypot files: report

Disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell recently tried to exploit a past relationship with a current top Republican’s wife to block the public release of FBI files concerning his relationship with the infamous “Fang Fang.”

The relationship was with Katie Miller, the wife of top Trump White House official Stephen Miller, according to Sources Say.

According to Miller, she was just a Capitol Hill intern at the time.

In early 2026, while Swalwell was a leading candidate for California governor and before a bunch of sexual assault allegations against him ruined his career, FBI Director Kash Patel sought to publicly release the files concerning Swalwell’s past relationship with Chinese spy Christine Fang.

Swalwell’s team pushed back by arguing the move could be seen as a politicized or punitive “weaponization” of the Department. They pointed to the long-ended relationship Swalwell had with Miller.

Swalwell, then the leading candidate for California governor, also sent Patel a cease-and-desist letter arguing he had never been accused of wrongdoing in the Fang matter and that the planned release was an attempt to smear him and damage his campaign, as originally reported by The Washington Post.

“The congressman has never been accused of wrongdoing in that matter and your attempt to release the file is a transparent attempt to smear him and undermine his campaign for governor of California,” the letter read. “Your actions threaten to expose you, others at the FBI, and the FBI itself to significant legal liability.”

Then-Attorney General Pam Bondi ultimately decided not to release the files, prompting allegations that she was chummy with Swalwell and that maybe she’d even tipped him off about Patel’s interest in the “Fang Fang” files.

“My ONLY contact with the Congressman was regarding death threats to his wife and children,” Bondi told Sources Say when confronted about the matter.

Swalwell, meanwhile, has publicly denied allegations that Bondi tipped him off.

As for Fang, she raised money for the congressman and helped place at least one intern in his office between roughly 2011 and 2015, according to the New York Post.

When federal officials told him they suspected her of being a Chinese spy, he allegedly ended contact with her. Later, when his relationship with her went viral in 2020, he managed to remain on the House Intelligence Committee thanks to support from then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy recently tore into Pelosi over her 2020 decision to keep Swalwell on the committee:

“Swalwell is her protege,” he said. “Pelosi protected this person, elevated him, made him like vice chair of the steering committee. He was so protected by Nancy Pelosi, she wouldn’t remove him.”

The reckless Democrat eventually wound up resigning in disgrace after an assortment of sexual harassment allegations cropped up last spring.

In April 2026, multiple women publicly accused him of sexual misconduct ranging from unsolicited explicit messages and photos to nonconsensual sexual contact and rape. These allegations, first detailed in reports by the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN, rapidly led him to suspend his campaign for California governor and resign from Congress.

“I was pushing him off of me, saying no,” a former Swalwell staffer told CNN at the time, describing an incident from 2024 in which he allegedly raped her when she was drunk and left her bruised/bleeding. “He didn’t stop.”

It was reportedly the second time he’d acted inappropriately around her.

“In 2019, when she was still working for him, she said she woke up naked with him in a hotel room after a night of heavy drinking,” according to CNN. “She said she had no memory of what happened but could feel physically that they’d had sexual contact.”

Another woman who “connected online” with the sleazebag over their shared interest in politics said she wound up very drunk inside his hotel room one night, with little memory of what had transpired.

“Earlier in the night at a bar, he kissed her and touched her leg without her consent, she said,” CNN noted.
