Vice President Kamala Harris got a ready platform for Biden administration PR on “The View” and gave a solid performance in fear-mongering to viewers.
After a gushing introduction by Whoopi Goldberg, Harris told the fawning hosts of the ABC daytime talk show that she was “scared as heck” about former President Donald Trump getting back into the White House.
‘Vice president Kamala Harris is incredibly busy helping to run the country as well as run a re-election campaign with so much at stake, and I have to say, we at this table, are thrilled that she found a moment to come and see us,’ Goldberg said.
Citing reports that other Democrats are expressing worries about President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, co-host Joy Behar asked the vice president if she had similar fears about the “crazies” and Trump winning the 2024 election.
“I am scared as heck! ” Harris exclaimed.
“Which is why I’m traveling our country. You know, there’s an old saying that there’s only two ways to run for office — either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared,” she added.
She continued the alarmist talk with a predictable appeal to the “future of our children.”
“When we are scared for the future of our children, do we then stay in bed with the covers over?” she asked. “No, we can’t.”
“We’ve got to earn reelection. There is no question. We’ve got to be on the road,” she added.
With Trump’s record-breaking 30-point victory in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night, Democrats are ramping up efforts to take him out of the running.
“The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Harris about Biden trailing Trump in many polls.
“What does it say that the party is struggling to compete with an unfit man who is very likely going to jail?” asked the former Trump communications aide who loves to bash him now.
“There’s a lot to unpack there,” Harris responded.
She went on to sing the familiar Democrat refrain about the battle for the future of democracy in America and claimed the 2024 election is about a choice between “competence versus chaos.”
“This is going to be the split screen,” Harris said. “And I do believe that the American people are going to vote in favor of what is in the best interest of the future of our country and in particular our children.”
