Kamala makes history in new poll, and not in a good way

Kamala Harris’s place in history was established when she became the nation’s first female vice president but her dismal performance on the job has made her the butt of jokes as well as earning the more dubious historical achievement of drawing the worst net negative rating ever recorded in a new poll.

According to the poll by NBC News that was released on Sunday, Harris is viewed positively by only  32 percent of registered voters with 49 percent expressing a negative view, and even worse for President Joe Biden’s running mate, 39 percent said that their view of her is “very negative.”

The horrific numbers for Harris are the worst in the poll’s history with her -17 rating being far worse than the four vice presidents who preceded her with Mike Pence clocking in at -4 in October of 2019, Joe Biden at +1 in December 2010, Dick Cheney with +23 in May 2003, and Al Gore at +15 in March of 1995.

The poll results come as the deeply unpopular Biden is beset by doubts about his age and physical and mental fitness for the rigors of another four years in the White House as well as mounting scandals, not the least of which is the alleged bribery of a foreign national when he was Barack Obama’s veep. The even more disliked Harris could drag him down with only the most rabidly partisan leftists believing that she is capable of assuming the top job if Biden is unable to complete a second term.

White House officials have been frantically working to bolster her image and improve her poll numbers according to a recent report by Axios which states that “Anita Dunn, one of the most powerful West Wing officials, recently directed the White House political and engagement teams to help schedule events with Harris promoting popular Democratic causes such as infrastructure spending and abortion rights.”

After the new poll came out, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients told Axios that “he meets with Harris weekly and touted her policy ideas and leadership.”

“If you think about what matters to the American people, it’s what the Vice President is actually doing and when the American people see her in action every day … I think the enthusiasm and energy is palpable,” he said. “We just need to make sure that we do a good job of exposing” her to the public, Zients added.

Harris’s ability to assume command has become more of an issue of importance after Biden’s humiliating faceplant when he spoke to graduating Air Force cadets at a commencement ceremony earlier this month.

“Naturally, the far left would be celebrating the fact of the first female president, heedless of the risks of identity trumping merit. Meanwhile, the sensible Americans who make up a majority of the nation would be living in fear of the human word salad playing with the nuclear football and the possibility that her cackle could be the soundtrack of Armageddon,” wrote Michael Goodwin of the New York Post after Biden’s tumble, pointing out that “Kamala Harris is a Biden fall away from being in the Oval Office.”
