Kamala reportedly wants DNC to release its buried ‘autopsy’ of 2024 disaster

Failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris reportedly wants the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to release the buried “autopsy” of the party’s 2024 election disaster that cost Democrats the White House and the Senate.

The former vice president continues to hover in the background of the prospective 2028 field, an unimpressive collection of failures and buffoons whose wretchedness has opened the door for her to swoop in and immediately be catapulted to the head of the pack based on national name recognition alone.

But Harris would need to overcome the perception that the deep losses of the last election were because of her, an idea that the DNC post-mortem is believed to confirm, with current chair Ken Martin refusing to publicly release the findings despite earlier pledges of transparency.

According to NBC News, Harris has “indicated to donors that she had no issue with releasing it” even though its contents would be damning to her, possibly to get it out of the way early to prevent the gory details from being leaked out during the primaries.

“As former Vice President Kamala Harris considers another run for president, she is also signaling that she has no problem with a public airing of what went wrong last time — telling donors she believes the Democratic National Committee should release its buried autopsy of her failed 2024 campaign, according to a person who has heard the conversations,” the outlet reported.

But according to the report, the ex-veep hasn’t discussed it with Martin, and according to an unnamed source, “did not know about his decision to keep it under wraps until it happened.”

Martin’s tenure has been plagued by questions about his leadership amid the organization’s financial woes, and one outlet recently reported that an internal mutiny was brewing but failed to materialize because the plotters “failed to identify an alternative candidate willing to step into the role.”

Martin’s defense of burying the internal critique during an appearance on the “Pod Save America” podcast further tarnished the party brand and deepened trust issues stemming from his decision to cancel the autopsy report,” according to The Bulwark.

X users offered up their takes about the report and Harris reportedly being down with its release.

Even though she has been noncommittal to another shot at making history as the first woman president of color, the NBC News report left little doubt that Harris is planning on running again, citing her book tour and behind-the-scenes “contact with key operatives and donors.”

“She’s working to keep relationships warm on all levels,” one source is quoted.

“Everyone assumes she’s running,” Chuck Rocha, a Democrat strategist who was an adviser to Bernie Sanders’ doomed 2020 White House campaign, said.

“She is being encouraged to run by a lot of people around her and by a lot of people around the country,” the Rev. Al Sharpton told NBC News in a phone interview. “She is definitely getting a lot of push, and I think it will ultimately impact her decision.”

Will the Democrats double down on failure? It sure looks like it.
