Karine Jean Pierre claims she was treated unfairly because of her race in Biden White House

Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has finally publicly admitted that former President Joe Biden’s top senior adviser, Anita Dunn, tried to sabotage her post in the administration.

The New York Post originally uncovered the plot last year, to which the Biden White House responded at the time with denials.

“Top aides to President Biden secretly hatched a plan this past fall to replace White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre by recruiting outside allies to nudge her out the door,” the Post reported in April 2024.

“De facto White House communications chief Anita Dunn, 66, the wife of Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer, told colleagues she had decided to call in prominent Democrats to explain to Jean-Pierre, 49, that the time was ripe to move on,” the reporting continued.

In her newly released memoir, “Independent,” Jean-Pierre admitted that the plot was indeed 100 percent real, writing that Dunn had been “orchestrating a campaign to push me out.”

FYI, many have taken issue with her book’s name:

The campaign reportedly began in 2013 after Jean-Pierre and Dunn got into a tiff over who should join then-President Joe Biden in traveling to Israel after the Oct. 7 terror attack.

Jean-Pierre explained in her book that Dunn tried to persuade her not to go. This upset her, so the then-press secretary reported the interaction with Dunn to the White House chief of staff and deputy chief of staff via email. But this only set Dunn off even worse than before.

“[M]inutes after I hit send, [Dunn] swept into my office, bypassing my assistant, and flinging open my door,” Jean-Pierre wrote. “She proceeded to scream at me.”

“You want to go on this trip? Fine!” Dunn allegedly yelled. “I don’t know why you want to do this, but it’s yours. Go!”

Jean-Pierre “surmised” that Dunn got so upset with her because she “wasn’t able to control me.”

“Sadly, women sometimes undermine other women,” the former press secretary added.

She went on to suggest that Dunn treated her worse than others, partially because of her skin color — and that she wasn’t the only one to experience this from the Biden adviser.

“I wasn’t the only woman on the White House staff who had negative experiences with this person,” Jean-Pierre wrote. “She had spoken dismissively to female members of the administration, especially those who were also people of color.”

“A white woman once said to me that it was uncomfortable being on emails with her and witnessing her tone and the way she addressed women of color,” she added.

Other critics have complained about Jean-Pierre’s longtime history of propagandizing on behalf of the Democratic Party:

The other reason for the bad treatment from Dunn, Jean-Pierre speculated, was because of her independence.

“The main reason for the change in how she treated me, going from someone who backed my getting the press secretary job to basically strategizing for me to lose it, had to do with my independence,” she explained.

“What made it even worse was this person was a woman. What happened to women helping one another? I thought. What happened to the idea that once you made it inside the halls of power, you left the door ajar so you could usher your sisters in behind you?” she added.

Dunn didn’t respond to the Post when asked for comment. However, three other former colleagues of Jean-Pierre and Dunn told the Post that the former press secretary’s racial accusations were complete fabrications.

“That is just such a pathetic attack when you have nothing else,” one of them said. “Anita is a lot of things, but she is not racist.”

“This is Karine taking everyone’s response to her performance, which was live on television…. and trying to blame it on other people,” another said.

“I have never felt more supported and uplifted than by Anita,” the third one, a young black woman, said. “She operates with a toughness that I think was needed more in the White House.”
