Kash Patel says release of FBI’s J6 involvement is coming, and it will ‘surprise and shock people’

FBI Director Kash Patel pledged that the “definitive answer” to one of the most persistent questions about the so-called “insurrection” at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, is forthcoming.

During an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier that aired on Wednesday’s edition of “Special Report,” the FBI boss addressed the still mysterious aspects of an event that was used by Democrats who attempted to disqualify President Donald J. Trump from ever holding public office again, and with help from the media, they created a false narrative that the unruly protest was a legitimate coup to topple the entire US government.

The answer to the lingering question about whether the event was an operation that was aided and abetted by provocateurs and FBI assets would provide clarity to what has become a pivotal moment in the nation’s recent history, one that the public has been misled about.

“People have had questions about January 6th and whether or not there were FBI sources – not agents, sources – on the ground during January 6. And I told you I would get you the definitive answer to that. And we have, and we are in the process again of working with our partners to divulge that information, and it is coming,” Patel told Baier.

The director added that the answer could “surprise and shock people because of what past FBI leaders have said about it.”

Last year, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz acknowledged that there were over two dozen confidential human sources (CHS) in the crowd at the Capitol, a bombshell admission contained in his report on the FBI’s “Handling of Its Confidential Human Sources and Intelligence Collection Efforts in the Lead Up to the January 6, 2021 Electoral Certification.”

“Twenty-six FBI CHSs were in Washington, D.C. on January 6 in connection with the events of January 6,” a press release for the report stated.

The Fox News anchor noted that former FBI Director Christopher Wray also confirmed the presence of the CHSs at the Capitol during congressional testimony.

“Can you say that’s true?” Baier asked. “Are there more than that? What’re you learning from that?”

Patel responded, “I can say that that is definitely a piece of the truth.

“Why it took a ton of time for and questioning in Congress for the director to get that point is what I’m trying to eliminate from the FBI,” he continued. “If Congress asks you a question under oath, whether or not there were sources in [or] around January 6th at the Capitol, you as the director of the FBI need to know that and not deflect and give a D.C. answer. You have to be prepared for that.”

“And that’s the answer we’re giving, that’s the answer Chris Wray should have given,” he added, criticizing his controversial predecessor’s weaselly responses during legitimate congressional oversight of the Bureau’s role in J6.

“And eventually everybody’s going to know, the whole picture?” Baier asked.

“Yeah, because the American people deserve that,” Patel answered, explaining that he is also frustrated.

“The American public spent tens of millions of dollars and countless hours on TV listening to conspiracy theories because those in positions of leadership failed to tell the American public the truth,” Patel added.
