Kennedy Center board finds way to get Trump’s name on venue despite pesky Obama judge

The Kennedy Center board has found a new way to put President Donald J. Trump’s name on the front of the beloved Washington, D.C. venue despite the ruling of an Obama-appointed judge.

On Thursday, the Trump-appointed board voted to re-add the president’s name to the building’s facade in defiance of U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, who blocked the changing of the name to the “Trump-Kennedy Center.”

“Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,” Judge Cooper said in his ruling, which was celebrated by leftists including ex-CNN host Jim Acosta, who likened the removal of Trump’s name to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

But the celebration was premature with the board moving to put the “Berlin Wall” back up again with an innovative way to circumvent the pesky judge, voting to inscribe the words “Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump” below the venue’s name and directing officials to honor Trump’s “existential and unprecedented contributions to the survival of the center by all legal means,” setting up an imminent court battle.

In addition, the board also voted to name an outdoor area “The President Donald J. Trump Plaza” and to close down the Kennedy Center for two years to undertake the renovations of the “rusted, rotted, and rat and bug infested” venue proposed by the president, who, much to the dismay of his detractors, is determined to leave his mark on D.C.

As could be expected, the surprise move infuriated Democrats and their winged monkeys.

“This morning’s decision to close the Center and the surprise agenda item to put Donald Trump’s name back on the building was more of the same,” ex officio board member Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) raged in a statement. “This latest development is a transparent effort to circumvent the Court’s ruling, and flies in the face of the statutes that Congress passed. I will continue to fight for this treasured national monument.”

The Buckeye State Democrat sued to have Trump’s name taken off the center and is foot-stomping mad that it could now be going back on – and she’s not the only one.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), who is also an ex officio board member, decried the “sham” meeting.

“What happened today was nothing more than a rubber stamp on a decision the President made months ago that the Board already tried to effectuate without doing proper due diligence,” he said in a statement.

“It’s absurd and Orwellian, especially considering he didn’t renovate it. He destroyed the Kennedy Center. I mean, that’s what’s so bizarre about this whole thing is he’s taking credit for something that he did the opposite of,” fumed CNN legal analyst and Zoom masturbator Jeffrey Toobin, adding “this whole thing is an obscenity.”

“A federal judge already rejected the board’s unlawful attempt to rename the Kennedy Center, and told Donald Trump’s handpicked board that its last closure vote was ill-informed and preordained,” Dem lawfare king Norm Eisen, who represented Rep. Beatty, said in a statement. “Today’s vote is more of the same, and a show of blatant disrespect to the courts.”

“Under President Trump’s bold leadership, the Kennedy Center is on its way to becoming the finest cultural institution anywhere in the world,” White House assistant press secretary Liz Huston said in a statement on the board’s vote.
