Kid Rock owns his infamous Oprah rant: ‘A drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts’

Rock icon Kid Rock is not apologizing for a profanity-laced attack on Oprah Winfrey and Joy Behar at his honky-tonk bar in downtown Nashville.

“A drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts, I own what I said,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson in the latest edition of Tucker Carlson Originals.

The incident took place in 2019 when Robert James Richie, aka Kid Rock, went on an alcohol-fueled, profanity-laced rant against liberalism that was later aired by TMZ.

“Oprah Winfrey is like, ‘Hey, I just want women to believe in this s***’. F*** her,” and “She can suck my d*** sideways,” he said. “And if you say that people say, ‘Hey, I’m pretty sure Kid Rock’s a racist.’ I’m like, ‘OK fine.’ F*** off.”

“My people tried to get me to do The Oprah Winfrey show years ago and her people wanted me to write down 5 reasons why I loved her and her show,” he would tweet. “I said f*** that and her. End of story.”

And he stands by that today, telling Carlson, “I don’t apologize to anybody.”

“I’m not an Oprah Winfrey fan,” Kid Rock explained. “I got drunk and f**kin’ next thing, I’m on stage saying ‘f*ck Oprah.’ I was trying to go after Kathy Griffin you know, for holding up Trump’s head, but I’m so out of it I’m like ‘f*cking Kathie Lee Gifford.’”

“When it comes back on TMZ or whatever a few weeks later I’m like ‘oh man, I like Kathie Lee Gifford,” he said. “We’ve been kind of friendly throughout the years.”

Carlson shared a little footage of his time visiting Kid Rock, which included firing what appeared to be an automatic rifle from the porch of the rocker’s “double wide” in Nashville:

As Fox News noted, Kid Rock is in the process of building a replica White House nearby and he recently released his latest album, “Bad Reputation.”

“Lyrics from the album include lines like ‘I’m the last of a few still screaming f— you.’ In one track, he attacks Facebook, Twitter, TMZ, CNN and Anthony Fauci by name, and lets loose on social media trolls,” the network reported.

Kid Rock took to Twitter last week to congratulate Johnny Depp for winning his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

“Congrats General Johnny Depp!” he tweeted. “You have won a huge battle in the war against cancel culture! Amber is paying you millions to basically let people hear she dropped a dirty in your bed!”
