Socialite Kim Kardashian’s recent call for struggling women to stop complaining and simply “work” harder has triggered an unusual backlash from both the left and right, including from her former employees and even from Meghan McCain.

In a recent interview with Variety magazine, Kardashian was specifically asked to give other women business advice.

In response, she said, “‘I have the best advice for women in business: Get your f-ing ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

Her sister, Kourtney, added, “That is so true.”

A call for hard work would traditionally be greeted with praise from those with a conservative mindset. And indeed, some people are praising her stance.

Look:

But many are also slamming Kardashian, including, amazingly enough, conservative commentator Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late Republican Sen. John McCain. In an op-ed for the Daily Mail, she accused Kardashian of being a “privileged white woman.”

“While she may work hard, less than 99.9% percent of the world’s population will ever be given the opportunities that Kim has had. Kim’s comments also play into the archaic belief that some women’s careers stall because of their actions,” McCain wrote.

“This dated thinking assumes that these women aren’t working hard or ‘leaning in enough’ as Sheryl Sandberg argues in her book ‘Lean In,’ which has been justifiably torn apart since its release for its unrealistic and extremely narrow standard for success that only works for privileged white women.”

Indeed, this exact same sentiment was echoed by former one-time Kardashian employee Jessica DeFino, who tweeted the following:

Others have complained similarly:

Though McCain’s decision to jump on this bandwagon could conceivably be seen as anti-conservative, she did in her op-ed draw attention to the effects of Democrat President Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies.

“Lastly, Kim’s remarks ignore that inflation is skyrocketing, gas prices are hitting historic highs, society has been savaged by Covid and the world appears to be on the verge of a possible WWIII,” she correctly noted.

“All of these factors impact everyone’s success. At the end of 2021, 61% of Americans were living paycheck to paycheck, according to a recent survey.”

Incidentally, America now looks almost exactly as her family’s nemesis, former President Donald Trump, had predicted it would.

“You’re paying, what, $2 a gallon for your gasoline? That’s okay. You know what that’s like? That’s like a tax cut. That’s bigger than a tax cut. If Biden got in, you’d be paying $7, $8, $9. Then they’d say, ‘Get rid of your car,'” he’d said during his final 2020 campaign rally:
