Debate among Senate Democrats over shutting down the government became so heated that one of them reportedly had an emotional outburst so intense that she could be heard screaming through the doors at a Capitol Hill luncheon on Thursday.
With left-wing lawmakers poised to reject the House’s continuing resolution to avert a shutdown, some party members feared that such a move would backfire spectacularly and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) expressed herself in a typically hysterical way by yelling at her colleagues, a meltdown that is very uncharacteristic in a party known for its lockstep unity.
Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie was among media members outside the meeting and reported that the New York Democrat was “screaming so loud we can all hear it through the thick wood doors.”

“Keeps yelling at her colleagues about a shutdown,” Hasnie added.

“She seems to be making the case against allowing the government to shut down,” Andrew Desiderio of Punchbowl News wrote in a post to X, also quoting Gillibrand as saying “This will not be a normal shutdown.”
I just heard Gillibrand say “This will not be a normal shutdown”

Gillibrand’s outburst isn’t anything new for a senator who has become the poster gal for the current crop of Hillary Clinton era feminist hysterics in Congress and X users reacted to the report of her screaming tantrum.
This is why nobody takes the left or liberal women seriously. When you behave like unhinged rabid lunatics, you get treated like unhinged rabid lunatics.

I can’t imagine having to sit in there like you do listening to those toddlers throwing tantrums. I’m praying for your sanity.

Yes, let’s make lots of rational decision for the country while we yell at each other.

And the Democratic party is demoralizing themselves, live! “Shock and Awe “!

Whether it was Gillibrand’s b*tch fit that made a difference is unclear but New York’s other Democrat senator, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that he would break ranks with the party and vote to keep the government from shutting down.
.@SenSchumer (D-NY): “While the CR bill is very bad, the potential for a shutdown has consequences for America that are much, much worse … Therefore, I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down.” pic.twitter.com/1IkuJqOObr

“I believe it is my job to make the best choice for the country to minimize the harms to the American people. Therefore, I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down,” Schumer said from the Senate floor on Thursday, potentially walking Democrats back from the edge of the cliff if enough senators join him to break the filibuster on the continuing resolution.
