President Donald Trump’s whirlwind first weeks in office are taking a toll on the left.
Besides leaving the Democrat Party in disarray after securing an epic election victory in November, Trump has been nonstop in making good on promises he made to Americans. This has, it seems, left one MSNBC host feeling “exhausted” enough to need a break.
A worn out looking Lawrence O’Donnell revealed this week that after only “52 days” of the new Trump presidency, he is taking a week off from his MSNBC show, “The Last Word.”
MSNBC melt down
(Teary-eyed) Lawrence O’Donnell says he’s “exhausted ” says the first 52 days of Trump feels like it’s more like 92 days
Rachel Maddow thought for a second that he was going to quit, ” You said (100) days, but on the 101st day, we’re on our way

“I know you’ve pledged to cover and be here for the first 100 days of the Trump presidency. I hope you noticed that I did not make that same pledge when you did,” O’Donnell told colleague Rachel Maddow on Wednesday.
“You’re not going anywhere, are you?” Maddow asked, her expression one of concern O’Donnell may be quitting.
“Well, here’s the thing. This is day 52. I thought it was day 92. It turns out it’s day 52, Rachel,” the 73-year-old replied.
“And I’m exhausted at day 52, and so I’m going to take next week off. And I’m telling you that now because I know you don’t like it when I just drift away. I’m just taking next week off, then I’m going to come back and go with you all the way to the 100 days,” he added.
“I know we all tell each other, you have to take care of yourself, you got to pace yourself, you got to be in this for the long haul, so I can’t hold it against you. But I’m very sad,” Maddow said.
“Can you hold this against me? I’m going to get a head start by taking tomorrow off,” O’Donnell stated.
“Yes!” Maddow replied. “I’m pre-mad right now. It’s like — and it’s not even tomorrow yet. Take me with you. Can I go with you? Where are you going? Don’t tell me where you’re going.”
“No, no, no. You said 100 days, you said 100 days. You can’t. You said 100 days. On the 101st day, Rachel, you and I, we’re—” the MSNBC host said as Maddow dramatically interjected to say, “Poof!”
After the drama, O’Donnell turned back to insulting Trump as having a “broken” brain, evidently forgetting the last four years under Joe Biden.
“And so America is at this hour completing the 52nd day of having a President of the United States whose brain does not work. Donald Trump’s brain is broken, badly damaged, as he exhibits every day,” he said.
“And once again, today, Donald Trump said something that would have gotten any other president rushed to the hospital for a neurological examination and an evaluation for dementia, for starters. That’s where they would have begun,” he said, lacking any sense of irony as he unloaded on the president’s comments about Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
O’Donnell’s need for a break was welcome news on social media.

You can go ahead and take a permanent rest if you’re tired of the administration and go ahead and retire because your Network MSNBC going to probably end up closing anyway

That is pretty funny. Trump is affecting their health.

I don’t blame him. It’s been rapid fire since day 1. They must be so exhausted trying to keep up with him. They can’t even do one segment or publish something, and there’s already another breaking story, another EO, another statement, another post, another development.
