LA holds ‘all-ages Drag March’ on Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday marks the celebration of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and what better way to besmirch this recognition than an “all-ages Drag March.”

The Los Angeles LGBT Center plugged a march on Easter Sunday for all ages to oppose “anti-LGBTQ+ legislation,” which is how the left refers to efforts to protect children from often permanent life-altering decisions such as genital mutilation before they are mature enough to understand the consequences of such actions. The left uses the term “gender-affirming care” to describe abusive intrusion into the lives of developing children.

“On Easter Sunday (April 9), the Los Angeles LGBT Center will host the all-ages Drag March LA–mobilizing against the oppressive anti-LGBTQ+ tidal wave in America. Why? There are already over 400 pieces of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation on the books—unsurprisingly, most of them target transgender people. Dress code? Sunday’s Best Drags,” an Eventbrite post said.

“Drag has always been political and gender has always been policed. LGBTQ+ people have always known (and shown) that there are many shades of the rainbow—and once again, it’s time for us to put them all on full display; we will not stand by while the far right seeks to roll back our rights,” the post continued. “In partnership with local LGBTQ+ organizations, faith groups, queer and trans activists, and the finest drag artists in the City of Angels, this proud assembly will march down Santa Monica Blvd starting at West Hollywood Park for the rally.”

LA County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and West Hollywood Mayor Sepi Shyne were listed as speakers for the event.

The truth is that drag shows have been occurring in America for decades with little concern or controversy, under the idea that adult entertainment is up to the beholder. It was only when the left started targeting children with so-called “story hours” and trying to bring drag queens into schools that it became controversial, with the usual suspects politicizing the issue to go after conservative Christians.

It’s not clear how many drag queens showed up in their “Sunday best,” but the march had a fair number of supporters turning out for the Easter Sunday depravity being forced on Americans:

There has been a fixation on drag queens and the cult of transgenderism in America of late, and conservative actor James Woods inquired in a tweet late Sunday: “The trans hysteria by the Left is clearly a smoke screen for something else. Guesses?”
