AOC urges Biden to ignore federal judge’s ruling on abortion pill; falsely claims national abortion ban is next

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was among Democrats who reacted to a federal judge’s ruling that would keep a popular abortion pill out of the hands of women seeking to deprive their unborn children of the right to live by calling for President Joe Biden to ignore the court, an endorsement of lawlessness from the party’s foremost thought leader.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, an appointee of former President Donald J. Trump in Texas, ruled that the FDA made a series of errors when it approved the drug that has been used for decades, suspending the approval for mifepristone. And while it is unclear if or when the pill will be pulled from the market and what the impact will be, the ruling drew a furious response from Democrat Senator Roy Wyden of Oregon who called for Biden to flout the court to keep the drug obtainable for “every woman in America.”

Ocasio-Cortez agreed with Wyden, telling CNN’s Anderson Cooper, “I believe that the Biden administration should ignore this ruling,” while also attacking judges who don’t rule in a manner compatible with the radicalized Democratic Party’s ideology, especially when it comes to abortion.

“The interesting thing when it comes to a ruling,” she added after the anchor seemed to balk at her endorsement of lawlessness, “it relies on enforcement and it is up to the Biden administration to enforce, to choose whether or not to enforce such a ruling.”

On Sunday the cartoonish congresswoman returned to CNN for the Easter morning edition of “State of the Union” where she doubled down on her call for Biden to tell Judge Kacsmaryk to pound sand by suggesting that the ruling was the proverbial camel’s nose under the tent, and suggested to host Dana Bash that a total national abortion ban was next, another of the baseless and hysterical claims that the former bartender has repeatedly made since she was elected to Congress.

“What you just heard me ask the secretary about was something that you called on the Biden administration to do, which is just to simply ignore the court ruling. That’s a pretty stunning position, if you think about it in the abstract about the notion of just ignoring a judge’s position. So my question is when this case is resolved by the Supreme Court, should the administration follow that decision if that decision ends up banning this abortion drug?” Bash asked her guest.

“I want to take a step back and dig into the grounds around ignoring this preliminary ruling as well. There is an extraordinary amount of precedent for this. There is a term known as agency non-acquiescence, and this has been used in for focusing, this is a first, that this is precedent-setting. It is not. The Trump administration also did this very thing. But also it has happened before, the idea of consistency and governance until there is a higher court ruling is not an unprecedented thing to happen,” AOC responded, putting on her constitutional law expert hat.

Bash let her ramble before asking about the Supreme Court – which she has repeatedly trashed – upholding the Texas ruling.

“I do not believe that the courts have the authority to have the authority over the FDA that they just asserted,” the socialist diva responded as she tossed out the big lie. “And I do believe that it creates a crisis.”

“Should the Supreme Court do that, it would essentially institute a national abortion ban,” AOC said, a baseless claim that went unchallenged by Bash who had only moments before labeled her call for Biden to lawlessly ignore the Texas judge’s ruling “stunning.”
