“Say her name!”
U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) made it her mission to make President Joe Biden acknowledge during his State of the Union address on Thursday the murder of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student, Laken Riley. But his response only served to enrage the mother of the slain young woman.
Riley allegedly died at the hands of an illegal Venezuelan migrant who was in the United States courtesy of the president’s disastrous refusal to close the U.S. border with Mexico.
“Say her name!” Greene shouted at Biden as he rambled his way through remarks about the border crisis.
And that’s when the octogenarian went off-script, holding up a pin with the slain student’s name, given to him earlier by Greene.
“Lincoln,” Biden shouted back as the crowd booed Greene’s efforts. “Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal.”
“That’s right,” the president boldly stated. “But how many thousands of people are being killed by legals?”
Biden then pulled the “Beau” card, likening the brutal murder of Riley to the loss of his son from cancer and the loss of little Naomi in the car accident that took his first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden.
“To her parents, I say, my heart goes out to you, having lost children myself,” Biden said. “I understand.”
And, just like that, what was meant to be a “Dark Brandon” gotcha moment became one of the most appalling moments of an appalling, anger-fueled speech.

As Democrats, aided as always by a complicit media, attempted to ignore the glaring gaffe and rub Greene’s nose in the president’s public admission, Laken Riley’s grieving mother, Allyson Phillips, took to Facebook and unleashed her fury.
A user on the platform told Phillips that Biden tried to “minimize” Laken’s murder “by using his son’s name Beau, again.
“Lincoln Riley is the current USC Trojans and former Oklahoma Sooners football coach,” the user wrote. “God help us all.”
In a heartbreaking reply, Phillips wrote: “Biden does not even KNOW my child’s name – it’s pathetic! If you are going to say her name (even when forced to do so) at least say the right name!”

Like Pavlov’s good little puppies, the mainstream media simply skipped over Biden’s inexcusable blunder and reported that the president “said her name.”
“He picked up the pin, he said her name,” @margbrennan says of the unscripted #SOTU moment Pres. Biden acknowledged Laken Riley, a nursing student killed allegedly by an undocumented migrant.

The Associated Press posted a story proclaiming the same.
“It was what the Republicans, demanded, but never expected,” AP noted. “President Joe Biden said her name: ‘Laken Riley.'”
The immediate backlash was so intense that AP deleted the post.
“An earlier tweet that reported he said Laken Riley’s name without acknowledging the mispronunciation has been deleted,” the outlet posted on X.

To its credit, AP bounced back with a more accurate addition: “But in garbling the pronunciation, he left Republicans dissatisfied and opened himself to more criticism.”

Some of that criticism came from Greene, who, following her exchange with Biden, wrote, “President Biden finally recognized Laken Riley was murdered by an illegal that HE let in our country, but couldn’t even say her name correctly.”
Other than the most divisive and angry campaign style SOTU speech from any president in history, there were two significant moments last night that every American is talking about today.

Meanwhile, Democrats are blasting Biden for using the word “illegal.”
“He should have said undocumented,” former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told CNN’s Dana Bash.

It’s “complete insanity,” according to one popular X user.
Democrats aren’t angry Laken Riley was murdered.
They’re angry Biden called her murderer an illegal.
Complete insanity.

When asked if he regretted his choice of word, Biden again stumbled: “Well, I probably, uhhhh, I don’t re— it, uhhh, aghhh, technically not supposed to be here…”
“Do you regret using the word ‘illegal’ to describe immigrants last night?”

“They are going to make Biden apologize for insulting Laken Riley’s k-ller,” one frustrated user replied. “He couldn’t even get her name right, how come no one is asking him if he regrets THAT?”
