Left-wing commentator calls Newsom’s ‘terrifying’ California a ‘nightmare’ over crime

“Progressive” commentator Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks is being praised by the right and slammed by the left for sharing the unequivocal truth about San Francisco’s hellish crime wave.

During an appearance late last week on fellow commentator Patrick Bet-David’s eponymous podcast, she justifiably ranted and raved about the hellish conditions that San Francisco residents and visitors alike must contend with.

Listen:

“San Francisco is terrifying. It’s hilarious to me because the business community there wants to put lipstick on a pig. They want to put out this $4 million ad campaign pretending that everything in San Francisco is all hunky-dory. It’s not hunky-dory. San Francisco is a nightmare,” she began.

The $4 million ad campaign she mentioned is designed “to refresh San Francisco’s image and boost civic pride,” according to CBS News.

“Yes, violent crime went down a little bit, but your car’s going to get broken into, you’re going to get robbed. … I mean, it’s not right,” Kasparian added.

She continued by addressing the Bay Area’s drug issue.

“There are certain issues that we’ve had for a long time — the drug war was a failure, and so going back to the drug war I don’t think is going to be effective. But you know what else isn’t effective? Using taxpayer money, funneling it to non-profits so that they can literally buy crack pipes and hand them out at Skid Row,” she said.

“There’s video evidence of that, so anyone on the left who wants to come at me and pretend that this is just a right-wing, scaremongering talking point, you’re full of crap,” she added.

The American Wire News previously reported that these non-profits have been using grant money from the Biden administration to buy and distribute crack pipes:

Wrapping up her rant, Kasparian expressed how “sick of it” she is of the dysfunction and insanity that has become the norm in blue cities like San Francisco.

“We spent $13 billion in Los Angeles alone last year to combat homelessness. You want to know where that money went? That money went to these trash non-profits who have a bunch of executives making half a million dollars a year. You’re working for a non-profit dealing with homelessness,” she said.

“That’s my money. That’s my parents’ money. That’s the hard-working people of California paying incredibly high taxes that go to what? So yeah, I’m sick of it. I’m sick of it. And honestly, just experiencing what I’ve seen on the ground in California has made me question a lot about left-wing ideology,” she concluded.

Her words inspired a lot of praise from those on the right who appreciate her slowly but surely waking up from the left-wing matrix:

This isn’t her first time echoing what some of her critics on the far-left call “right-wing talking points.” She’s been drifting toward the right (more-so the center, really) for awhile now.

But in the process of becoming a more moderate “Progressive,” she’s also accrued a whole new crop of enemies — namely far-left radicals who deeply resent her speaking the unadulterated truth.

These enemies were especially annoying by her evidence-backed take on San Francisco.
