Less than 1 month after failed assassination, MSNBC takes Trump-hating rhetoric to reckless level

It’s no secret that MSNBC’s Morning Joe crew epitomizes the “derangement” in Trump Derangement Syndrome, taking their hatred of the nation’s 45th president to heart, but Monday’s show was startling even for the low bar established by Joe Scarborough and Co.

One month since a 20-year-old man-child outsmarted the $3 billion Secret Service operation and nearly killed 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump,  MSNBC contributor Charles Sykes took his Trump-hating rhetoric to a reckless level, insisting the former president is “desperate” and capable of “anything.”

Confident that the DC political machine’s coronation of Kamala Harris had achieved its goal, creating the perception that the most unpopular vice president in U.S. history experienced a sudden resurgence in the eyes of Americans and is now not only the best thing since sliced bread but is actually capable of winning in November, the Morning Joe talking head discussed how Trump will respond to his supposedly inevitable loss.

“This is pre-election denialism by Donald Trump,” Sykes proclaimed. “It’s no mystery, Donald Trump is never going to graciously concede defeat in this election. He’s already laying the groundwork for what’s going to happen after November. I think this is going to be an extraordinarily dangerous period. He has election deniers in key states, his base is psychologically not prepared for him to lose.”

“This is a desperate man,” he continued. “Donald Trump will not simply lose the election. Donald Trump knows if he is not elected president, he may be going to jail. He will do and say anything. You see in that tweet, not merely the fact that he’s rattled and losing it, but that he is already coming up with his lines for why he can deny the results of the election, how Kamala Harris’ nomination is unconstitutional, how this is being stolen – all of that in advance.”

“No one should be surprised or think that this fever is going to break on November 5th,” Sykes concluded. “Whatever happens, we are about to head into a very dangerous period in American politics, led by Donald Trump, obviously assisted by Republicans who simply have decided that they’re not going to draw the line.”

Many of those already skeptical about the Secret Service’s inexplicable behavior during the attempt on Trump’s life believe there may be other assassination attempts before November rolls around and with the type of rhetoric being bandied about on MSNBC – whose parent company is Comcast – the next mysterious loner who stumps the alphabet agencies in DC will have no shortage of content to stir his emotions.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X, from social media users who understand projection when they see it:
