A California library shut down a former female college athlete who was speaking about the war on women’s sports when she was accused of misgendering by one of the facility’s librarians and not allowed to deliver her remarks.
Sophia Lorey, who played soccer in college, was speaking at the Mary L. Stephens Davis Library in Davis on Sunday about how the invasion of female sports by transgenders is permitting biological males to unfairly physically dominate girls and women when she was rudely cut off.
In a shocking video of the incident which has gone viral on social media, Lorey is talking about how young girls who work hard and aspire to excel at sports can no longer live the dreams that she and others from a saner time were able to.
“You were misgendering… You were saying male in female sports.”
A librarian at a Davis, CA public library revoked a group’s reservation a few minutes into the program after the first speaker referred to transgender athletes playing in women’s sports as male.

“At 18, I was able to live out my dream,” she told the audience. “But current 10-year-old girls cannot live out the same dream as long as men are allowed to compete in women’s sports.”
Since the exercise of free speech is evidently forbidden when it comes to an honest debate about transgender dogma, the librarian exercised his power as a member of the leftist thought police and cut her off over the crime of misgendering.
“We don’t want any transgender females being called male in sporting events with females,” Lorey was told by a library official early in the speech, according to the Sacramento Bee. “If that happens, it’s not following our code of conduct and we will ask the person who says it to leave immediately.”
“Today I was invited to share my personal storing of being a college athlete,” Lorey said on Twitter/X. “I was shocked by what happened.”

“I stated ‘Current 10 year old girls cannot live out the same dream [I had] as long as men are allowed to compete in womens sports. So now no matter how hard girls work…’ And then I was cut off and told by the librarian I would be removed, so then I continued talking saying ‘biological girls’ and ‘biological men’ to finish sharing my story. The librarian then told me to leave and if I won’t leave he will shut the entire meeting down,” she wrote.
“The librarian then again told me to leave so I directly said why am I being asked to leave and he told me “Because you are misgendering, you were talking about men in women sports,” Lorey added. “The group putting on the event had the conference room reserved at the public library to host the event at Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library.”
“This is ridiculous, but not shocking….a female athlete silenced for calling a spade a spade. They won’t even engage in a civil conversation. Props to this gal for sticking her ground,” tweeted former NCAA swimming star Riley Gaines who has been at the forefront of the battle to save women’s sports. “Do we know the librarians name and/or phone number? We need silent majority to do its thing.”

The incident drew the attention of conservative commentator Megyn Kelly who didn’t hold anything back.
“Hey Scott, it is not ‘misgendering’ to call a ‘trans woman’ a man. It is fact. We are DONE participating in this delusion. There is no such thing as a ‘trans woman.’ There are women, and there are men. PERIOD,” she tweeted.

Lorey appeared on Fox News where she discussed the blatant violation of her First Amendment rights with host Sean Hannity.

“This whole issue of defending women’s sports is a red herring,” Yolo Rainbow Families director Anoosh Jorjorian, told the Sacramento Bee in a defense of the library’s stomping on Lorey’s free speech rights. “When we have transphobia in sports, it damages cisgender women who don’t conform to a narrow definition of what it means to be a woman…. it implies that women are always inferior to men.”
