Locals, leathernecks and lawmen clashed in a chaotic scene outside a Texas nightclub where agitators got a firsthand introduction to the motto Semper Fidelis.
Austin’s 6th Street is known for rowdy rabble-rousers and viral footage circulating over the weekend was no exception as the denizens of the leftist haven were caught confronting United States Marines in their dress blues.
Unclear what prompted the initial catalyst, a video post by TX Street Fights on X began with one woman recording herself outside the Voodoo Room bar and club before another woman snatched the phone from her hand, lobbing it out toward the street as she could be heard saying “…break your sh*t. What!?”
As tempers flared, one of a group of men wearing white squared up with a Marine and took a swing that, though narrowly avoided by the service member, set his brothers to demonstrate what it means to be “always faithful.”
Don’t mess with Texas quickly became “Don’t mess with the Marines,” as Collin Rugg stated on social media when a wall of blue formed up. Meanwhile, one of the men in white could be seen errantly landing a back fist on the protagonist woman who had set off the conflict.

Seeming to restrain themselves until the pack of civilians started wildly throwing punches, the Marines advanced as a unit to overpower the conflict before they had separated their challengers, even taking one to the ground in the street where blows continued to be landed.
Within moments, Texas State Troopers could be seen entering the fray pulling the fighters off of one another and separating the packs just as more police arrived, including a mounted division.
At least one of the men in white could be seen getting cuffed before the video from TX Street Fights cut to a different tussle where onlookers encouraged one brawler to “get em.”
Though it remained unclear how the conflict had begun, the number of arrests made and what, if any, punishment awaited the Marines for fighting, commentators on social media rallied behind the young men for sticking together, appearing to demonstrate greater restraint than their opponents in addition to being named the hands-down winners of the brawl.
Others couldn’t help but call out the apparent decline of respect in the nation as one suggested, “American citizens attacking US Marines in formal decor on US soil is deeply concerning,” and another chimed in, “What a disgraceful incident in Austin! Our brave Marines, defending themselves after unprovoked attacks. This is the state of our country–disrespect for those who put their lives on the line. Unbelievable!”

The video quality on this is particularly great for a bystander with an iPhone.

As others voiced concern about the potential ramifications for the Marines in the blue city with a soft-on-crime progressive district attorney, more were surprised that anyone would try to fight readily identifiable service members. “These guys are wearing the official uniform of ‘Dont fשk with us’ and they still did…” commented one as another quipped, “So why did anyone think it would be a good plan to street fight with Marines.”
