‘Lying to your face’: Team DeSantis responds to CBS claim that Fla. may ban book over black character

One of the most visible characteristics of the modern day political left is their willingness to lie as a first resort, most often by wrapping their falsehoods in half truths and nowhere is the practice more evident than in the mainstream media that carries water for the Democratic party.

The latest in the endless production line of fibs is the false narrative that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is erasing black history from the Sunshine State, a big lie that sprung up after a controversial AP African American history course that was saturated with “woke” content including queer theory was blocked for its lack of educational value and deviation from actual history.

The DeSantis administration has been very busy as it works to counter the fake news pumped out by the race-baiting media, most recently the claim made  “CBS Saturday Morning” co-host Michelle Miller that books featuring a black character could be banned statewide in Florida.

At the end of a segment featuring children’s book illustrator Vashti Harrison and books featuring her artwork including Lupita Nyong’o “Sulwe,” Miller baselessly suggested that the book could be banned by DeSantis.

“An important footnote to the story. Sulwe has been banned in some Florida schools and might be banned statewide under the Stop Woke Act. Harrison says it’s disappointing and upsetting, but she will continue to work on stories with diverse characters,” Miller said. “The fact that Sulwe, a character, trying to find her identity and be okay with it would be banned because she’s a black character, she just couldn’t believe it, but these are stories for everyone.”

Miller’s suggestion that was grossly misleading to the program’s viewers who are ripe for manipulation by the purveyors of misinformation in the media was slammed by DeSantis’ press secretary Bryan Griffin who has had his work cut out for him as the smears pile up.

“America, here’s @CBSMMiller lying to your face on @CBS with zero accountability from her cohosts or the network. No book in Florida is ‘banned statewide,’ and no book would be permissibly removed from a classroom for ‘having a black character,'” Griffin tweeted to set the record straight.

“They want you to be misinformed,” he added, along with a clip of Miller lying through her teeth.

NewsBusters’ Alex Christy provided some needed context regarding Miller’s shameless remarks.

“Miller provided no evidence that a statewide ban is probable beyond simply asserting it. This is also the second Saturday in a row, CBS has had trouble with the state of books in Florida. News reports on Sulwe bans center on Duval County, which is the same county that saw a substitute teacher fired for spreading misinformation about the state of school libraries and the manufactured Roberto Clemente controversy that was ginned up by political activists trying to make a scene,” Christy said.

Twitter users reacted to the brazen dishonesty from Miller and CBS.

Team DeSantis has also called out MSNBC, NBC and longtime reporter Andrea Mitchell aka Mrs. Alan Greenspan for her bald-faced lie that the governor doesn’t want slavery taught to kids in Florida schools, a bogus assertion made during an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Shameful. This question from @mitchellreports exemplifies everything wrong with corporate media,” tweeted Griffin along with a clip of Mitchell’s big lie. “They’re not accidentally terrible at their jobs–they’re maliciously intent on deceiving people. @GovRonDeSantis never said this, and FL has extensive black history requirements.”

With each passing day, the mainstream media exposes itself as a propaganda and lie machine that many have come to view as an enemy of the American people.
