MAGA pauses trashing of DeSantis, calls on governor to defy Trump arrest, send Natl Guard To Mar-a-Lago

Some of former President Donald Trump’s most stalwart acolytes took a respite from their typical base-priming attacks on likely challenger Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as an idea circulated as to how he might be of help.

Since a leak Friday presented the likelihood that Trump could be indicted and arrested by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg (D) regarding hush money payments allegedly made to adult film star Stormy Daniels over a supposed affair they had had, figures on the right from across the spectrum have spoken out.

Some of those comments were even more charged than Trump’s own repeated calls for “PROTEST!” against a perceived political persecution of a former president and current political candidate. However, the noted absence of comment from America’s Governor on the possible situation faced by the 2024 frontrunner, i.e. where charges had not formally been announced and as he himself had not officially named himself a rival, was more than some from heavy-hitting MAGA figures could tolerate.

“So when DeSantis say something? Curious.” posed radio host Sebastian Gorka as former Gettr CEO and Trump campaign senior advisor Jason Miller noted from a brief list of announced and potential 2024 rivals who had or hadn’t spoken out Saturday, “Thank you, Vice President @Mike_Pence and @VivekGRamaswamy, for pointing out how Radical Left Democrats are trying to divide our Country in the name of Partisan Politics. Radio silence from Gov. @RonDeSantisFl and Amb. @NikkiHaley.”

Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy had posted in part that “A Trump indictment would be a national disaster,” while the former vice president’s remarks included his saying, “Another politically charged prosecution against the former president of the United States.”

He later went on to call out DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley giving them an arbitrary deadline of 9 a.m. Sunday to issue comment on the potential indictment.

Some, like podcaster Stew Peters, took matters a step further and asserted exactly what actions DeSantis would have to take in order for them to even entertain the idea of him being “the conservative hero he projects himself to be.”

“He should REFUSE to honor the arrest warrant for President-in-exile Trump and send the Florida National Guard to Mar-a-lago to ensure Trump’s protection. Period. Anything less proves Desantis is a fraud,” Peters captioned a screen grab of the president’s Truth Social post that said, “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

Meanwhile, commentator Mike Cernovich referred to DeSantis’ lack of comment as “his first unforced error” and detailed precisely what the governor “has to say.”

“I will not extradite a presidential candidate to a [George] Soros DA who allows violent criminals to roam free until,” Cernovich tweeted, “there has been a proper legal review conducted under Florida law. If lawful, then extradition may occur, but not one day sooner.”

It remains to be seen what if any response DeSantis will give, but worth noting is the governor’s record making announcements after all the facts have been gathered as he had when he announced the suspension of State Attorney Andrew Warren after an investigation was undergone to identify which, if any, public officials were putting politics above the law.
