Mamdani camp reportedly blasts ABC over antisemitism accusation

An aide to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani reportedly snapped at ABC executives after a co-host at “The View” criticized one of the mayor’s allies.

Mamdani is close with Darializa Avila Chevalier, a radical socialist candidate for Congress and the founder of Columbia University Apartheid Divest, or CUAD. The mayor has been a staunch supporter of her campaign.

On a recent episode of “The View,” mildly center-right host Sara Haines slammed Avila Chevalier as an anti-Semite.

“I’m gonna full-blown call her an anti-Semite,” Haines said. “She would proudly call herself that, trust me.”

The comment evidently irritated Mamdani’s team.

“Following the comments, one of Mamdani’s aides privately expressed fury to ABC executives, suggesting her words could impact whether the New York City mayor and other Democratic Socialist candidates for Congress would appear on the program in the future,” according to Semafor.

In addition to being an anti-Semite, Avila Chevalier is also a die-hard communist who participated in an anti-Israel party the day after the Oct. 7 attack, who believes Karl Marx is a “must read,” and who previously quoted cop killer Assata Shakur.

“The View,” meanwhile, is an extremely far-left show. Haines is only mildly center-right because she still sides with the show’s majority leftist hosts the vast majority of times.

After then-GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Iowa caucus victory in early 2024, Haines slammed her own state in an effort to downplay the now-president’s victory.

“It’s disappointing to see that come out of Iowa, but let me add a little perspective and context that’s very important,” she said. “Only 5% of the population of the state caucuses. So when you see ‘Iowa swept’ or ‘Trump swept Iowa,’ no, he did not. He swept 5% of the population.”

“Only 13% of registered Republicans in the state of Iowa — 13% of the party — showed up for that. And only three times in the past six — excuse me, eight Republican caucuses have they even predicted the candidate. So although I am a proud Iowan, and we love our caucus … it’s important to know those numbers when you’re reading headlines,” she added.

As for Avila Chevalier, she’s reportedly been giving establishment Democrats “heartburn” because of her recent shock victory over incumbent Democrat Rep. Adriano Espaillat.

“Her victory is making some Democrats queasy, in part, because Avila Chevalier leaned in to political views that in past elections would have been viewed as politically toxic,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Journal noted that she’s called for abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, essentially turning America into an open-borders country. She also recently refused to say whether an individual convicted of murdering another human being should be incarcerated.

Establishment Democrats hate all this.

“It’s like a bunch of gifts under the tree for Republicans,” Third Way think tank co-founder Matt Bennett told the Journal. “She has done and said things that are so wildly outside the mainstream that it would be very easy for them to weaponize.”

Yeah, no kidding…
