Mark Warner says 100,000 Virginians were kicked off SNAP — there’s more to the story

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Virginia, lamented the 100,000 Virginians who have been removed from SNAP, blaming the president’s bill.

President Donald Trump’s Democratic critics mocked the “Big, Ugly Bill” and claimed it would have devastating effects on those who receive government assistance. On Monday, Warner took to X to claim the bill’s consequences are currently being lived out by the people in his state who have had their benefits taken away.

“100,000 Virginians have been kicked off SNAP because of Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill. These are real consequences for families just trying to put food on the table,” he wrote.
