Maxine Waters continues paying daughter with campaign cash; total racks up, nobody is stopping it

Federal Elections Commission data reveals that Rep. Maxine Waters has continued to pay thousands of dollars of campaign funds to her daughter for campaign-related services.

The money that Karen Waters has received from her mother, who ironically currently chairs the House Financial Services Committee, has now reached over $1 million in payments, according to FEC records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Payments to her and her company, Progressive Connections, “range from the hundreds to the tens of thousands of dollars for a variety of costs,” Fox News reported, noting this included “slate mailer management” fees, “campaign managing services,” and paying for a “band for [a] holiday event.”

“The payments add up, with the data showing that the congresswoman has paid her daughter and Progressive Connections over $1.2 million since 2003,” Fox News noted.

Waters is reportedly the only member of the U.S. Congress to use slate-mailing during the 2020 general election. The California Democrat’s daughter organized the operation which Fox News described as “an uncommon practice in federal elections, where a consulting firm is hired to create a pamphlet of sorts that contains a list of candidates or policy measures, and advises voters how to cast their ballots.”

Campaign finance records showed that during fiscal year 2021, Waters’ campaign paid her daughter over $80,000 over several months.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told Fox News Sean Hannity Tuesday that “right now you do have the ability to pay a family member.”

“I think that’s just wrong with your campaign. But they have to do the work in the compensation has to be equal for the work done,” McCarthy added. “This raises amazing questions. A million dollars? What really have they done with the campaign? “
