Mayor Adams seeks revenge on Gov. Abbott, threatens to send busload of New Yorkers to Texas

Now that New York City Mayor Eric Adams is getting a taste of what it’s like to be a Republican-led border state, he’s awfully angry — but at the wrong people.

Instead of directing his rage at the Biden administration, which has and continues to exacerbate the border crisis with its widely panned policy decisions, he’s instead directing his rage at border-state governors like Greg Abbott of Texas.

He’s particularly mad that Abbott has been committing the apparent sin of funneling the illegal aliens crossing into his state to NYC, a city that is, thanks to Adams’ own decision-making, a sanctuary city for illegal aliens.

Adams is so angry that illegal aliens are being funneled into his sanctuary city that he’s begun threatening to travel to Texas to campaign against Abbott, who’s running for reelection in November.

“I already called all of my friends in Texas and told them how to cast their vote. And I am deeply contemplating taking a busload of New Yorkers to go to Texas and do some good old-fashioned door knocking. Because for the good of America, we have to get him out of office,” the mayor said during a press briefing Tuesday.

Apparently, NYC is a sanctuary city in name only …

Adams’ latest attack came two days after he issued a statement calling the funneling of illegal aliens into his city “horrific” and further alleging without evidence that the illegals are being relocated to NYC against their will.

“This is horrific, when you think about what the governor is doing. Some of the families are on the bus that wanted to go to other locations, and they were not allowed to do so. They were forced on the bus. Our goal is to immediately find out each family’s needs and give them the assistance they want,” he said.

Abbott’s office clapped back on Monday.

“What’s horrific is the thousands of illegal immigrants overrunning and overwhelming our border communities with populations smaller than a New York City borough, and Mayor Adams is hypocritically upset about welcoming a few dozen into his sanctuary city,” the governor’s press secretary said in a written statement to The Houston Chronicle.

“These migrants willingly chose to go to New York City, having signed a voluntary consent waiver, available in multiple languages, upon boarding that they agreed on the destination,” the press secretary added.

Abbott was not the only one to clap back. So did members of the public, who were quick to explain to Adams that NYC is experiencing just a sliver of what border states have to deal with on a daily basis.

Critics were also eager to remind Adams that he voluntarily chose to make NYC a sanctuary city and thus is obliged to do his part.

As noted before, the true culprit is the Biden administration, which continues to pursue policies that incentivize more and more and more illegal migration.

Most recently, the Biden administration formally nixed former President Donald Trump’s highly successful Remain in Mexico policy.

“The Department of Homeland Security said Monday that it ended a Trump-era policy requiring asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico for hearings in U.S. immigration court, hours after a judge lifted an order in effect since December that it be reinstated,” according to the Associated Press.

Thanks to the nixing of this successful policy, even more illegal aliens are expected to flood across the southern U.S. border in the coming days and weeks.
