McCarthy trolls White House after massive crowd at blue state Trump rally

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy trolled the White House on Sunday while commenting on the massive crowd at a Trump rally in New Jersey, saying Team Biden should be “concerned” about what that translates to in November.

A crowd of up to 100,000 turned out to see former President Donald Trump on Saturday, with Fox News noting that the event “is being called the largest political rally in state history.

What’s more, the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee declared that he may very well win the Garden State.

“We’re going to officially play in the state of New Jersey. We’re going to win New Jersey,” Trump told the crowd. “I think we’re going to win them all. All across America, millions of people, so-called blue states, are joining our movement based on love, intelligence, and a thing called common sense.”

Appearing on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” McCarthy suggested that a Trump win in NJ is not entirely out of the question.

“That was extraordinary,” he told host Maria Bartiromo on the turnout. “New Jersey [is] not a place that people think Republicans would ever compete, but the size of the crowd…could President Biden get that crowd in the heart of New York or in the most Democrat state? Could he do it in California? The answer is no.”

“The other thing that we’re hearing coming out of the White House itself is… President Biden needs to campaign less, talk less, because he gets in trouble while doing it,” McCarthy continued. “This is President Trump showing no matter what they throw at him, he’s going to fight back. He’s going to lead this nation on the issues they care most about.”

Adding to the luster of the day, New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor joined Trump on stage, along with former Giants star Ottis Anderson.

“I grew up a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat, until I met this man right here,” Taylor told rallygoers. “Nobody in my family ever will vote for a Democrat again.”

McCarthy said the “persecution” of Trump is “backfiring” on Democrats, adding, “No one in America believes President Trump would be in a trial today if he was not running for president.”

“They’re coming after our democracy, and it just shows last night with that crowd,” he continued. “You got Lawrence Taylor. You have Democrats in that crowd. Independents. I would be very concerned if I was in the White House today.”
