Singer Meghan Trainor has a message for the “teachers of the world”: She’s really super sorry for what she said about them during a recent rant on the podcast she co-hosts with her brother.
“Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said ‘F teachers’ on the podcast and it’s not how I feel,” the pregnant 29-year-old said in an apology TikTok video on Sunday. “I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is so horrific.”

Influencer Trisha Paytas was the Trainor siblings’ guest on a recent episode of their podcast, “Workin’ On It,” and the singer stated that she and her husband Daryl Sabara are “homeschooling our kids” in the wake of several school shootings.
“F**k that,” Meghan stated. “Everyone on TikTok is. They’re like, ‘This is what it’s like to have a kid in school in America. I have a bulletproof backpack.'”
“F**k all that,” she said.
Paytas mentioned bullying and teachers, and that’s when Meghan exclaimed, “Teachers! F**k teachers, dude!”
The comment drew immediate backlash.
“Hearing @Meghan_Trainor talk dismissively about public schools is so disappointing,” wrote one Twitter user. “So many students have to go to public school because they don’t have the money or accessibility for private school or homeschooling.”
“Teachers are superheroes doing the best for their kids,” the user stated.

“Meghan Trainor owes 4 million people a huge apology,” stated another user. “You DO NOT use your privelage [sic] granted from people like us to dismiss public school and teachers. They are doing their absolute best in a time where our government continues to fail us over and over again. We DEMAND an apology.”
“Screw you @Meghan_Trainor,” fumed a third. “Was a huge fan and now I’m done. You don’t come after teachers. You owe a huge apology to a ton of people.”

In her subsequent TikTok video, Trainor insisted that she loves teachers.
She was talking about the fact that “What all of has to go through, but especially teachers, is not normal and not okay,” she explained.
“I had Trisha Paytas on the podcast,” she continued, “and I knew her history with her teachers. And I knew my husband’s history with his teachers, and I was bullied by some teachers, so, in that moment, I got angry and said, ‘F teachers.'”
“F those specific human beings back in the day,” she clarified, “but I did not mean that to all teachers.”
“I love teachers,” the singer said. “I fight for teachers. I think they have the hardest job and they are the most underpaid. They are the most unappreciated when they literally raise all of us.”
“I don’t want to make excuses,” the Grammy winner added. “I just want to [say,] I am so sorry.”
Unfortunately for Trainor, her apology may not be enough to appease the masses.
“Dear @Meghan_Trainor, your comment towards teachers is inexcusable,” one former fan tweeted. “No apology can fix it.”
“Some of your music is on my class playlist. It’s being deleted,” the user stated. “You have NO IDEA what it is like to be an educator. None. Instead of criticizing, use your platform for good.”
