Michelle Obama says she understands why some who voted for her husband twice could turn to Trump

Former First Lady Michele Obama said she understands why some of her husband’s former supporters became Trump supporters, though she couldn’t resist taking shots at those same supporters.

Appearing this week on the “Talk Easy” podcast, Obama admitted that she was “deeply disappointed” when President Donald Trump won in 2016 but acknowledged that the public had wanted someone “different” because the system hadn’t been working in their favor.

“When you don’t have a chance and you’re doing everything you’re supposed to do — and that’s happening for people of all races, and all colors, in all parts of this country, and cities, and rural counties, and on farms, and people who are like my dad — that makes you angry, and it makes you susceptible to find someone to blame other than the people who are rightfully a part of the problem,” Obama said.

So, in other words, people who got shafted during the Obama administration were later bamboozled into voting for Republicans, whom the former first lady genuinely believes are the true culprits.

Never mind that it’s generally Democratic policies that make life harder for Americans.

“I can’t look some people in the face and tell them, you have no right to be angry or to do something that maybe is against your own interest,” Obama continued, suggesting that Trump supporters are too stupid to know what’s best for them.

“That’s human nature. Many of the people who voted for my husband twice — twice — and I know that that’s how they feel. It’s like, this isn’t about anything other than, we need we need something different. So, you can’t just pigeonhole them and say, you just don’t care and you’re racist, or whatever you’re thinking,” she added.

Obama concluded her remarks with another subtle shot, saying that America needs more leaders focused on the middle class because “those folks are drowning” and their inability to rise from their troubling circumstances “makes for bad choices.”

The alleged “bad choice” was, of course, voting for Trump, the big, bad Republican meanie whom Obama despises.

Obama’s remarks did not sit well with Trump supporters, many of whom saw right through her phony compassionate shtick.

In an ideal world, it’d be easy to give Obama credit for trying to understand her political opponents. The problem is she clearly isn’t trying to genuinely understand — she’s just running her mouth, as usual.
