Persecuted Christians are petitioning the Supreme Court after a midwest state took away their child to satisfy the transgenderism agenda.
Mary and Jeremy Cox, Catholic parents from Indiana, are hoping to protect other families from “having to endure the nightmare” they did after refuting allegations of abuse still proved insufficient to reclaim custody of their son. After years of conflict rooted in “preferred pronouns” the couple is now appealing the high court correct this “issue of nationwide importance.
According to a press release from the family’s representation, Becket, the case of M.C. and J.C. v. Indiana Department of Child Service stretched back to 2019 when their son initially told them he “identified as a girl.”
“Because of their religious belief that God creates human beings with immutable sex–male or female–they could not refer to him using pronouns and a name inconsistent with his biology,” the law firm laid out.
Worried there was an underlying mental health issue causing both gender dysphoria and an eating disorder, the Coxes sought aid from specialists, ultimately leading to their loss of custody.
The state government caught wind of their refusal to appease their son’s condition and opened an investigation in 2021 that resulted in the child being placed in a “gender-affirming” home
“This is what every parent is afraid of. We love our son and wanted to care for him, but the state of Indiana robbed us of that opportunity by taking him from our home and banning us from speaking to him about gender,” the Coxes said in their release.

Utter insanity.

Becket detailed that when the investigation was completed, the state withdrew allegations of abuse from the parents but maintained their beliefs had exacerbated their son’s eating disorder. However, the parents argued the disorder hadn’t worsened until their son was taken away.
“Keeping a child away from loving parents because of their religious beliefs–even when the state admits there was no abuse or neglect–is wrong and it’s against the law,” Becket vice president and senior counsel Lori Windham told Fox News Digital. “The Court should take this case and make clear that other states can’t take children away because of ideological disagreements.”
Their story was not unique as Montana parents Krista and Todd Kolstad had detailed their own account of having their child taken from them over transgenderism in Montana. They’ve continued to to fight for custody while the state was said to have dosed their daughter with vaccines and at one point removed her from the state entirely.

“Tearing a child away from loving parents because of their religious beliefs, which are shared by millions of Americans, is an outrage to the law, parental rights, and basic human decency,” Windham said in a statement. “If the Supreme Court doesn’t take this case, how many times will this happen to other families?”
Meanwhile, when sought for comment, the Indiana Department of Child Services told Fox News Digital, “DCS does not comment on ongoing litigation.”
The Coxes said, “We are hopeful that the Justices will take our case and protect other parents from having to endure the nightmare we did.”
